Well the thread is old enough but the question is more relevant than ever since now more and more applicants have work-ex on the higher side.
According to me work – ex of 2+ means
a) You will have better understanding of what is taught since you can relate what is taught to what you did at your workplace, think about it it’s worth every penny.
b) Won’t have much concern about placements.
c) If you choose to continue in the same industry the career progression will be fast
d) If you have IT work – ex and you change the function & industry both, then IT tools, application won’t be rocket science for you (yes this is with lot many people I work with, since they are from non – IT background)
e) You are not eligible for most of the hardcore marketing, sales, Finance kind of job, unless you have relevant work – ex.
A human being should beable to change diaper, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.
Specialization is for insects.
