Ok..I have no business to be here but thought I can give some gyan based on my learnings with
CAT 2005 Mumbai group (CAT2oo5 - Mumbai).
Few Guidelines -
1> All participants are equal, some are more than equal
Never look for people to spoonfeed you.Dont ask for plans if there isnt any.Take the initiative and float the plan yourself. If the group likes it, they will join in.
2> Contribute, contribute ,contribute. Dont be a lecher.
There will be some people who will be good at something, e.g. Vineet is good at Quant. But he will be coming to the meet NOT to give gyan, but also to learn something out of the meet.If it is a one way flow from a gyaani person , be sure that he will stop coming to the meets very soon.So go to the meet , with the idea of contributing as much as your desire to learn.
3> Fights, arguments, criticism
Always remember, you all are working for a commom cause and helping each other . There will be arguments, criticism , ego clashes, but it all can be sorted out if you realise that it is not personal , it is just the clash of ideas.
4> Observe and participate, dont waste other's time
Do go through previous 2 pages of the thread before posting any query.I have seen it umpteen times, someone posting,
"Where and when is the meet? Can i come?"
And surprisingly, all the details were written 2 posts above, but the user didnt bother to go through them. This leaves a bad impression of yourself as well as creates frustration in the mind of the user, who wrote all the details earlier.
A classic example of this is here -

I think its enough for now...lets see how this group shapes up.
Best of luck,
Rohit
