I agree to the fact that analysis by CAT institutes could be wrong.
I got a 68 from IMS scores and 64 based on the Career Forum answer key.
That 4 marks is a huge difference.
Have got a IIMB call though, so looks like 68 could be the real one

I think the IIMs should release an answer key to the papers 2-3 days after CAT. That would be great.

That's what i'm worried bout. I guess that's wht the IMS meant when they mentioned bout only 2600 odd calls being sent. Had assumed more that with 2 more rounds of elimination and GD needing atleast 5-7 minimum guys to have a discussion. :

Dont know howevr...! Keeping fingers crossed..! Btw.. I just found one post mentioning about guy not getting call from B and making it in A and getting other calls. Does anybody have any other such pleasing anecdotes to share..!!

I think a minimum of 27 is required in VA and an overall equitable distribution across the other two sections.

By far this seems to be a reasonable explanation.... well then screw my strategy of taking 5-10 mins out of VA to compensate for QA

Hi Folks,

I think that some people - not all - who were expecting 62 or something might have actually scored less. As has been pointed out earlier, there have been differences of 4+ marks when answers were checked from answer sets belonging to different institutes. We really have no idea regarding the correct answers to some questions ! And, that is really bothersome.

Now a different story altogether. Two years ago in the month of Feb, after CAT 2001 (in Nov or maybe Dec), when IIMB started sending calls, a virtual bomb had exploded over IIT-D. At most 10 people received calls and this shattered almost everyone as is expected when expectations were quite high then. People who had thought that they had cracked CAT 2001 fell into a gloom. Almost everyone thought that it was over. And then, after a day or two, when IIMC and IIML started sending calls, there was joy everywhere ! 60+ people received calls from IIMC amd 70+ from IIML, K and I. To top it, around 25 students received calls from IIMA. It was totally unprecendented ! The story continued from there but there is no need to say anything from there on...

I am not trying to give some false hopes to guys who are on the "borderline". All I am saying is that just wait and watch and pray !!! Things are not over. History might not repeat itself but then you never know. Every IIM has a different set of criteria for choosing people for GD/PIs. IIMB has its own and so do the other IIMs.

Personally, I would say there is a lot of chance for people who haven't received calls yet. This is my personal opinion and others may beg to differ.

Before I end, I would just like to say that there is this guy who is expecting 95. He is in comp. sci. from IIT-D. Believe me, he is a genius. At the same time, I think he is inhuman too !

That's all from my side !

Cheers all !
