The grounds can be Plans of 1000 of aspirants are getting affected.. And at least the selected students for the Reduced Number of seats can be announced..

PIL filing is easiest thing to do and it can be filed online without any hassles.

hey buddies....
lets see what if the WORST happens....
let say the gov passes the quota bill this year itself...and say, within a month, considering they knw tha the classes have to start by june end/july...
tht will result in all the institutes implementing this system... they have already promised that they wont let the GENERAL category seats harm in any way, so lets wish our no of seats remain the same...
it wont affect us from the fact that we will get admission into some or the other insti we deserved to get in i believe..
what it wud really affect us is in money....say a guy gets in MDI... n then deposits cash on 1st may... after dat if he gets a call from any IIM, he can either go with MDI( if he has som financial worries) or go with the IIM...
in the first case he might eat up somebody's seat (in the waitlist of MDI)...in the lattter case he himself will end up wasting some money...so there will be some loss either way...
i know we r fumin up with the decisions of the govt, but we can some up with some thing more i guess.. we can request premier insti like MDI/NITIE/SP JAIN/IIFT etc to prolong their first installment of fees date... atleast by the time the IIMS come up with their result.. this willl help the candidate in choosin exactly which insti they wanna go to and escape monetory loss, n also the other guys in waitlist will get a chance...
from the side of govt, to be very frank, hope only the worst... they ll cum up with somethin or the other n implement this stupid caste divide system in any case..
wht we can expect is that atleast these premier institutes behave in a responsible manner and act accordin to some ethics and not by just makin for profit....
so please... if anyone has any contacts in the higher authorities of these institutes, please give them this suggestion...
for a guy like me who is in the waitlist n tht too of IIFT kolkata, i have no hopes of nethin miracle happenin.. but m worried for thousands of those who worked hard like me n happen to at some place in some good B school.. everyone shud get wht they deserve, n urgin the bschools seems like a lucrative solution...

I think only NDTV is giving this news, that too just in the news strip/ticker, for the moment all channels are too busy in covering the UP elections and BCCI meet to think about anything else.
I hope that IIMs hold to there(IIMA) earlier line that if the govt fail to vacate the stay by 12th, they will carry on with their admission process. But in view of the govt directive, i feel that IIMs will be more or less helpless.

i hope this is true...but news channel reports arent tht reliable moreover btw looks this is gonna much more time :(

just a couple of points... this is not the whole 'is reservation justified' issue again. The court already says the govt. needs updated stats to back them up..which is something i totally believe in... make reservations based on numbers.. for exceptionally talented people who might not be able to get in otherwise due to socio economic factors.. it may be inconvenient to some of us.but it can change someone elses life...

granted it can affect us adveresly too... but then getting all bent out of shape over 1 newspaper report is not justified..
i am sure the IIMs wont remain idle for years while the judgement is awaited..that's ridiculous ..even for indian bureaucracy...
The colleges start in june..and hopefully we will know soon

we are the future managers and should vow to be part of change in this system, and not just education,the broader picture... corruption.. how many of us still give the traffic cop 100 bucks and try to get awat( I don't.. but i know a lot of people do..).. casteism etc...
bombay ranks 209th out of 215 cities in the world..and leaders here fight about banning valentines day...

It's time we challenged all the wrongs..not just the ones that happen to impact us today...thats when this country will become great

Well said! This would be an affirmative action....

And its high time the system needs amendments.. Things simply cannot go as per the whims and fancies of the politicians. I mean there has to be an accountability towards each and every thing these politicians come up with else you never know the 106th amendment to the Indian constitution might be on its way to provide reservations for the political fraternity at the IIMs and IITs due to 1) their under-representation at the IIMs/IITs and 2) their denunciation/oppression by the student community and the youth (Its a known fact that they have been categorically denounced by us. And yes the Supreme Court too would give the Act a green signal)

Saturday was a lovely day

Got up early morning...hit the gym....saw a couple of movies and finished a book....
Went to the temple in the evening....prayed...GOD...just 4 more days to go....give me the best....

Then what happens???!!! I opened PG 15 mins back and it totally blew my mind when i read the news...

I had been totally cool till now...not tensed a bit....but now it's getting into my head...
Like subodh said our productivity in whatever other tasks we were/are doing was/is getting affected big time.

Who are we to blame??? The politicians??? The ppl who elect them??? or myself who has never voted in his life??? I don't know... Have to find someway to cool my head
