Now here is a piece of info which creates a possibility of results getting declared atleast some days before...
UPDATE: Bangalore IIM director Prakesh Apte has sent a letter citing several reasons as to why the HRD ministry should allow them to at least admit students according to last years capacity as soon as possible. Infact this is believed to be the stand of all six IIM's. It is to be noted that many B- schools do not refund money and as such students could lose something within 2-10 lakh.

I really feel sorry for those who had slogged throughout the year to get an admission and have to go through this unnecessary delay.
That CAT 2k6 was jinxed is anybody's guess now.But ppl who had slogged for it do not deserve this.Waiting cud not have been more painful. All the best puys hope the issue is resolved soon.

Good to see IIM's taking into consideration problems of students and asking ministry to let them release results as quickly as possible. Hope the ministry moves quickly on this issue.
Well in one strike IIM's have appeased almost everyone

Update (8.30 PM, 12-4-2007) on Admission for PGP 2007-09 batch The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India vide letter 14-4-0/2007-TS.II dated 5th April 2007, has advised IIMs and other central educational institutions not to issue any offers of admissions for the ensuing academic year 2007-09 until further communication from the Ministry. The Directors of six IIMs discussed this matter and jointly decided not to issue any offers till April 21, 2007.
IIM-A will start the process of issuing the offer letters on April 21, 2007. To begin with, the number of offer letters would be limited up to 250, i.e. the level of intake prevailing in the last academic year (2006-2007). Subsequently, after hearing from the Ministry regarding the status of the reservation policy, if required, additional list of up to 30 students (including OBCs) will be prepared and offer letters will be sent to these students. The increase in intake of up to 30 seats is as per the agreement with the Moily Committee in the context of implementation of 6% reservation for OBCs.
Thus, the admission status to applicants to IIM-A with respect to the initial list of up to 250 students can be accessed from IIM-A website after 11 AM on April 21, 2007.

The Hindu
'Delay in IIM admissions causing uncertainty for students' Bangalore, April. 12 (PTI): The delay in admissions to the Indian Institutes of Management is causing uncertainty among students who are in a quandary as to whether to wait or apply elsewhere, the director of the IIM here said today.
"They (Union Human Resource Development Ministry) said put on hold the admissions. They should have taken us into confidence, they should tell us what we should do now. We can't wait indefinitely," said IIM-Bangalore Director Prakash G Apte.
An IIM-B official said the institute, on behalf of the six IIMs, has sent a representation to the human resource development ministry, urging it to issue directions on dealing with the issue.
Apte said if students get admission elsewhere and then join IIM-B once its admission process starts, they stand to lose anywhere between Rs 2 lakhs and Rs 10 lakhs on account of fees paid to the institution where they admitted themselves.
He said if the selection process is delayed, the "whole calendar" will be upset and students will suffer.
Apte said the six IIMs will move collectively on the issue of admissions. The human resource development ministry had sent a directive to all IIMs to put on hold the admission process over the OBC quota issue.
IIM-B, he said, has prepared a list of 270 selected candidates, including 19 under the OBC quota.
The admission process should be allowed to go ahead according to last year's quota of 240, and the second list could be released later, he argued.

IIMs to go ahead with admissions in April 12
Don't u guys feel that the students of all the categories are ultimate loosers in terms of money they giving to other institutes,in terms of stress time in which they undertake the mental trauma???????
What the hell is happening to Indian Polticians...............who are giving mindless dicission to put a hold to entire process............Isn't it a sign of a volatile and immature democracy???????

Finally some step taken by IIMs which will help some of our friends to make decisions based on the IIM results. Meanwhile any idea whether the Govt is filing the Review petition today or not?.
