I thought so like you (I mean..your original opinion)..just about 8 months ago if anyone asked me whether I would ever think of studying abroad or taking up an international offer...I would puff my chest...talk about how great my country is... How the economy is booming etc etc...& would then go on to laugh at the guys collectively responsible for the "Brain Drain"
Little did I know that in the coming months...I would be enlightened as to why the best in the IITs/IIMs run away overseas... The public who keep pointing an accusing finger at the IITians/IIMites asking them why they never returned to serve their country... maybe they should ask themselves...where would they go if they had the world at their feet with the price they deserved being offered abroad in a truly "equal-opportunities" scenario..???
P.S. I thought that I had lost my world when I got no calls with an overall %ile of 99.26 in CAT '06... But things worked out well in the end...I ended up getting an international offer from an Oil-field services major & am off to Abu Dhabi...Maybe it was best for me that I got away from India..!!!
For guys who disagree...I am sorry...these are just my personal opinions..!!!!

Why do we have to bear it ..........
Are we not being selfish, by thinking that we should not wait for our admissions as SC has put a stay which delays the Quota implementation..... but we are ready that this dilemma be passed to our juniors....
Why not wait and let this bloody arguement end once and for all.....
Do you don't think that this discussion is important to be done now..... Why a quota:whatthat: ????
This has to be discussed and we can't shirk our responsibility to allow it to happen by just thinking that let us be saved even if others are doomed.
This is a cowardly thing to think of..
Let us be prepared that we have to get this thorn out of everybodies flesh..... Why should students die for / against quota. There has to be some decision and no time is better than now
Let the fight start....
Because
I say so

You have to be in the system, to CHANGE it.
I am not known for taking soft stance so it is natural for me to not get convinced.
My replies are often uncomplete, delibrately, so that the thought process keeps going. Please bear with it...

@ river
It is not the question of waiting dear.. Look, we are not machines.. It wud have been fine had we been.. Now due to this continued suspense, our productivity at whichever task we are doing is suffering..
Now, wud it not be better if know for good whether we r through or not, so that we can coolly move on to the life ahead rather than waiting for these results...

I have gone through the same feelings in recent times. Particularly after UPA government forced private companies to bend and give way to caste based reservations. But I can't be anything but optimistic.... it is a way of life... One day there will not be any caste based reservations in India.
Harshad, if you keep your chin up, one day you will be happy that you took a decision to stay back.

NEW DELHI, APRIL 6: While indicating it did not want to confront the judiciary over the the Supreme Court stay on implementation of 27% reservation for OBCs in higher education institutions, the UPA government today made clear it would take “all appropriate steps” to implement quota from this academic session itself.
The Government’s decision to approach the Supreme Court and get the stay vacated was endorsed by partners, especially the DMK, RJD and LJP, and the Left allies at a meeting today. Sources said there was unanimity among parties on implementing quota from this year itself.
The Left parties felt there was no need for fresh enumeration of OBCs in the country as most states did have OBC lists and admissions to education institutions in the states were being done on the basis of these lists.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to hold meetings with other parties to build greater political consensus on the issue. After the meeting, a release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office stated: “Government will take all appropriate steps to ensure that the reservation for OBCs to the extent of 27 per cent becomes operational from this academic session”.
At the meeting, it was decided that the Government will first move the Supreme Court, state legal grounds for seeking vacation of the stay and, at the same time, underline that Parliament’s legislation needs to be implemented. The Government may also possibly ask that the matter be referred to a larger Constitutional Bench.
The Government’s line of argument, sources said, would be drawn from the landmark ruling in the Indra Sawhney case of 1992. Relying heavily on the judgment of the nine-judge Bench, the Centre’s application will ask for vacation of stay to deal with the immediate crisis on hand.
To ensure implementation of OBC reservation, the points of a caste-based census and creamy layer will be part of the arguments, the sources said.
The Government has held extensive discussions with legal experts. Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium has had several rounds of talks with Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh ever since the Supreme Court stayed implementation of quota. Sources said that since caste-based census had already passed judicial scrutiny of a nine-judge Bench, the Government may contend that even exclusion of the creamy layer, as per the Indra Sawhney judgment, will arise only under Article 16 (4) (providing for reservation in government employment opportunities) and, therefore, it may be allowed to implement quota in higher education institutions.
From Indian express
With a pile of 300 résumés on his desk and a need to pick someone quickly, my boss told me to make calls on the bottom 50 and toss the rest.
"Throw away 250 résumés?" I asked, shocked.
"What if the best candidates are in there?"
"You have a point," he said.
" But then again, I don't need people with bad luck here ."

Yes ,I fully agree with u.......
I am also willing to change the political system......
We have to stand up and demand our rights.Sometimes i myself feel that whats the benefit of doing MBA and improving MNC system when we dont have the courage to change our own system....
The demand of implementing OBC Quota ( Including creamy layer ) and the impatience to implement this year only clearly tells the vitiated mind of these politicians. And still we are allowing them to rein the country.Whats the benefit of getting salary in dollars when the really backward community is in privations and we so called educated ppl are in run of getting more n more money....
Whats the benefit of watching Rang De Basanti, when we cant drive the messgae out of it......(not killing arjun singh but to fight against system)
