I am disillusioned. I cant see what I can do. I picture myself 15-20 years down the line, (best case) as an hounourable(!) MP associated with some party and can only imagine how badly I would be suffocated. I feel I would become all of the Gandhiji's monkeys at the same time!

Somebody mentioned IIMs will declare results on 12th....I wonder....

Cause IIT Bombay (which previously declared that results will be anounced on or before 10 april) just put this info on its website.....

Results for Admissions 2007-2009
The announcement of the final list of candidates selected to join the M.Mgt program of SJMSOM 2007-2009 has been withheld due to the directive from the MHRD to stop all admission processes. The results would not be declared until further notice from the Central Government. Please keep checking this page for further updates.

Fine....... now those insti. which declared results in last week & asked selected students to deposit 1st installment......Are they going extend last date of submission of fee....Isn't it appropriate for them to extend the dates & communicate so to the students????....

But this is almost next to impossible....It means some good money making business for some of the Institutes......

1st time I am feeling bad for being selected....I would have been happy if I were waitlisted......

I am going to send an email to newspapers regarding this....I am not sure whether it will create any impact 99.99% it will be ignored, but thts all I can do. I request all puys to send emails to national newspapers....atleast some of Us will be heard.......

Ever been woken up with ice water hurled at your face? This stay was definitely ruder than that...
The results getting stalled becomes more disappointing when you consider that we have a learned politician leading our country.... He has been respected by most and was seen as someone who was not yet completely mired in the "politics"... But sadly when all this happens, we find no direction being given from his end... What more, he goes ahead an gives a veiled threat to the CJI... Like some of you even I feel totally let down and the idea of a nation that I had is totally shattered... A nation is just not a land of birth, but comprises of the people who make it... And I very sadly feel that it's the ruling class that makes(breaks?) this nation...People like us are of no value... My only loyalty from this point on is to my family..... Country?? I dont think I can ever make myself truly feel a part after all the events that have taken place this year.... I think in the next few days we will see a larger bench over ruling the present judgement, politicos declaring a slogan of victory, and everyone moving on with their lives...save the few who would be left with nothing more than a broken dream......

i dont see any wrong in him marking the category OBC eventhough hes well off economically working in an MNC........Because as u said the rules are not good enough to allow only economically backward people in....So there is no assurance that the seat he leaves will go to the needy.......
The perfect analogy was quoted some where else..."u get a train ticket under some quota reserved...Suddenly on the day of travel they say the quota is invalid and u have to travel by some other means...Then the obvious response will be i have reserved the tickets u implement this from next train...."
So the OBC guy who got thro IIFT was in every way correct in getting the admission....
I want to stress the point that after giving admissions u cant take back the offer...This has a lot of implications emotionally to the individual.......
And also u call some people just for OBC seats they travel spending 1000s for air ticket and now u say they are not considered...who'll compensate the time they spent for prep of interview , the pain and tension they were made to go thro and also to thier travel expenses because even a couple of trips in flight comes to 10 k......

Common guys so the admission process which was conducted with a specific set of seats in mind should be completed with that seats......There is no substitue to it...

Gud decision to drop a mail to newspapers.The public should know how the shortlisted candidates are troubled bcoz. of the delay in results.

Thing is we are not denying u admission if u are capable of you will anyway get it. you got the reservation through law now the same law is asking u to leave that.
I you are so desirous of getting in why havent you applied through general quota.

Everyone whether selected or not have to pay for their travelling expenses. so where is the issue of money comes in.

Everybody puts in as much efforts as he/ she can. And the pain is much more when u knwo that you are denied admission not beacuse are inferior but beacuse you dont have some caste certificate.

reservation or no-reservation is not the issue here. i hope they give out the results on April 12, as scheduled and the whole 'Stay- stay review' mess gets cleared.

and personally, I don't think that OBC people from IITs and working in MNCs are "wrong" in applying under OBC category. The law is stupid enough to provide them a slight fillip. He would be dumb NOT to use it, in this era of multi million rupee salaries!

When everyone else is swimming 95.3 kms, the OBC guys are swimming just 95 kms. hardly any difference... God! Please just release the results on april 12, as scheduled!!

bhai logo looks like this thread has become a fighting place for proving that reservation is good or bad

but we all forget that even with all this whatever good pts we find for/against reservations we will have no impact either on the date of the results or the quota itself ... then whats the use of fighting over it

all of us are anxious to get the results asap as all have several pieces to join after the results are announced but that dosent mean we start up old issues again so jus chill n wait for the results..

The nation is certainly divided on the issue - I thought the bill was passed by consensus. But no one is thinking about we poor candidates whose future has been put on hold by the HRD ministry till they come up with an idea to circumvent the court ruling. Our esteemed judiciary takes nearly 9 months to decide that the basis of reservation was wrong! ??:

And why can't the SC & the govt. let the IIMs go ahead with the process...They are increasing only around 6 % of the seats and that is certainly less than any number that any new survey might throw up. So let the admissions go on with 6 % this year, and the final figure can be decided later. I know I sound despo but I am sure there are many more of my clan around who are as anxious for the results. whether we make it to IIMs or no is a secondary issue now..We have already been very patient (Any1 remembers when we took the CAT). Anyway the SC never said no quota for OBCs...it just said not 27 % so why put the admissions on hold??
