One dumb question: Its mentioned technical institues. So does this cover management institutes also. At all places it metioned technical programmes, education etc so can management be also covered under this heading.

Some Good News!!!

IMT is abiding by AICTE... It is refunding almost all the amount paid... Only 1000/- is deducted!!!

I just called them and confirmed... Its put up on the site too

My case is somewhat similar to many that can be found on this forum. I had got an admit and then canceled my admission the very next day to B R Nahata college of pharmacy, Mandsaur, MP.
They claimed that since the fee was deemed non refundable, they would not refund any of the 70 k that they took for admission.
I am currently fighting a case against them in MRTPC ( Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission) . Such cases have been dealt by the MRTPC earlier too and it has passed a judgment in favor of the student thus far. So hoping for a positive end to all of this.

I would be happy to help/guide/discuss this with anybody who might have suffered the same grievance.

hi guys,
I think even the 10 k being taken by sibm in lieu of some obscure course material is not correct considering i withdrew admissions on 27th march when the course began on 11 april i dont understand why i am forced to pay up for the course....
can anyone suggest how i can file a complaint ?
worse still i have to withdraw admissions from NITIE soon .. i hope the situation is better this time ........

Garima... for complaining about it, I suggest you contact SIBM directly.

Meanwhile, as an alumnus of SIBM, let me explain why that fee is nonrefundable. If you read the last page of the SIBM prospectus, you'll find that the fees you paid have two parts - the normal fees, and the precourse material fees. The normal course fees will be refunded - a max of Rs. 1000 will be deducted for processing charges, rest given back to you. The precourse material fees are nonrefundable - it is mentioned in the prospectus clearly. It is for material that is sent to you to prepare yourself for the basics of the subjects you'll learn in your first year.
