i heard that the first interview is a general interview but for the second round of interviews we have a stream specific process...
let us all pour in our profiles here and if possible let us all start the Manufacturing and operations preparations...here on this thread...

i had written a small mail to a senior who happens to be my friends friend...and i had written a few questions to him...
following is the reply to his mail sent to me...

1.what would be the diff between the interview for the first round and
the second round?

There is not much difference in the 2 rounds . The panels will be similar . Just that a different prof will be evaluating you.


2.how much may i possibly be grilled over my manufacturing and
operations? as i have applied for the same specialization?

If you have a similar background then it would be easy for you. No probs. If you are making a shift you should give a very good reason for that . Also you should be very clear where will u fit in. Why are you better off than people with relevant experience?
YOu might be grilled to see your basic understanding thats all . Be thorough with some basic undertanding


3.the GI that we have now will have a mix of students for diff
specializations or will it be just manufacturing and operations?

Ya it will be 90% of the cases. Just for the lack of students u might have all students from same specialisaion , else attempt so far has been to have a mix. but what diff does it make


4.Please tell me about some lines on which i could start the preparations

Your CV is very imp ... be thorough with it .. examples for things witten and all
Pagal guy has lotsa trails where ppl have discussed their interviews last year and all


5.What is your specialization and can i also have guidance from some
"manufacturing and ops" student in case your specialization is
different?

Finance, will ask somone and get back to u on that

News is that the 2nd round will be similar to the first one but they will check ur clarity of thought more.Everything that is said has to be justified.No stress interview.Will be cool!!!But One thing that is killing me is that is the list for both 1 yr and 2 yr?B'coz here r only 9 students in 2yr MBA prog for the current year.Rest will keep on posting as I get to know.

One thing is coming to mind that they may ask Budget specific question related to your industry. Like what is impact on your industry due to current budget proposal like that? so its better to check all the budget highlights and understand it.
