Hi Kamlesh,

CBS is not affiliated to any university. It is an autonomous institute. The eligibility criteria is graduation. People doing their final year degree, like u, can also apply. For our IT vertical, only engineers can apply.
You have to download the application form from the website, or collect it from CBS and send it with a DD for Rs.1000. CBS will get back to u and let u know ur date for interview and GD, which will be conducted every weekend, starting from April. After the GD/PI, within 3 days, we'll let u know if u r selected or not. CBS doesn't keep anyone in waiting list.

Good luck,
Jyotsna

CBS offers a Post Graduate Program in 7 different verticals. So the degree u'll get would be PGP(retail), PGP (HR) etc. All colleges offering 1-year programs give this type of a degree. Placements are expected to start by the 4th week of March and will go on till April.

Hi Nikisonia,

Ya, i agree that the prospectus says PGDM. But only a week back quite a few colleges got information from AICTE to change the degree offered to PGP. Only those colleges which follow the syllabus prescribed by AICTE can offer PGDM. As CBS follows a unique model and believes in the syllabus set by the industry professionals, we agreed to change the course name to PGP.

Hi Guys,

Finally I went to CBS on Saturday. Had booked an appt with Associate Dean "Minnie Menon" for Sat 11 am. Few guys had also come to enquire. We were all given the CBS prospectus which is similar to the one available online. The receptionist showed around as students were busy with classes. Seems weekend classes happen only if some top Industry guy visits them that time...

Infrastructure:

Classrooms are really good. Was impressed with the seating arrangements.- one of a kind
.later heard from Ass.Dean that the seats were the most expensive!!
There are 3 classrooms and 2 more are being constructed n will be ready by june...all
are air-conditioned...library seems well-equipped, tho cudnt browse thru the books...dint
get to see cafeteria...not sure if they have one !! Few conference rooms are available and overall infra is quite good.

Had to wait for abt 30 mins in the reception as the A.Dean was talking to another
candidate. A video ppt was showed to all of us. Saw Jyotsna speaking abt Retail in the
video Students from Retail/Marcom/HR were talking abt CBS and their courses. nice
Presentation. One of the students is a doctor with 5 yrs exp, another is the son of Sangeeta Restaurants owner..like that. I think the profile of current students is listed in CBS website

Around 12: 30 had a meeting with A.Dean which lasted for abt an Hr. Mrs. Minnie Menon was quite cordial n friendly. It was like an interview to some extent. where I had to brief abt my profile n why MBA, why CBS n why Marcom specialization n questions like that

About the Courses:

The first 6 months are generalizations n the next 6 months-specializations. There will be an internship in the first 6 weeks with various companies. Students will be teamed n sent for the same. And every 10 days, Industrial top shots will be coming to share their knowledge n experience. There will be lots of case studies throughout the course..esp in the 2nd half n internships in the end also i believe. Exams will be once in 3 months - mid term exams.

As I am planning to specialize in Marcom, gathered some info abt the same - job scenario, various opportunities and all. Minnie Menon told that there are lots of opportunities in Marcom but said pay may not be great immly after MBA..n pay may not be as much as am recving now( Am IT professional with 2.5 yrs exp). She asked if a pay of 3.5 will be ok and all.. Dunno if she was asking to test me or if job scenario will b like that..

Placements:

Coming to placements, she said CBS will ensure that all students are placed, but they want to give job experience to students rather than guarantee placements, coz CBS wants to impart job exp into students. She said tat companies in the board will be def coming n they are talking with other companies.

Heard from one of my friends studying HR there that placements r expected to start in 2nd week of March. So hopefully in April we will have solid placement info..

Admission Process:

Admission process is the same as explained by Jyotsna. GD/PI will happen every Sunday in
April and results will be informed within 2 days. there is no wait listing done. A.Dean said that they look for why a student shud be selected rather than why a student shud b rejected. Nice thought

Hope this info is useful guys. Am applying to CBS now, am hoping that placements will be good

Cheers,
Arthi
