Ya, most probably these companies will come for recruitment. But we don't depend on them solely as we are inviting other retail, manufacturing, banking, hospitality, FMCG, consulting and telecom firms as well.
CBS will look at the overall performance of a candidate which comprises of his/her academics, extra-curriculars, work-exp, performance in GD and PI. CAT/GMAT scores will just be an added advantage. We haven't assigned any specific weightage for these scores. I would say that leadership qualities and the right attitude is given prime importance in the selection process.
Hope to meet u soon at our campus.
Cheers,
Jyotsna

Hi jyotsna,
I visted the campus recently. Had a chat with Mrs. Minnie Menon and the dean. A student there was kind enough to take me around the place.
All the very very best for your placement season.
Can you throw some light on the CTS figures that you people are aiming at?
Pantaloons - what ctc have they offered?
Thanx a million in advance!

Hi Prasanna,
We are aiming at a CTC of abt 4 lacs for freshers and above 5.5 lacs for people with relevant experience. Pantaloon will let us know the pay package by june only as they gave us the offer letter long back in july 2006 and have revised their salary structure now. I would be able to tell the exact CTCs offered by other companies only after the placement season. So, wait and watch

Hi Venu,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
1. CBS definitely has the potential to become one of the best B-Schools in south india. Even before we could complete 1 year, it has become well-known among industry professionals (eg. ur ex-boss!) I would not compare CBS with Great lakes. Except for the fact that both of them offer 1-year programs, they have nothing much in common. We both follow very different course models.
2. Our strength in Marketing management is going to be the indepth industry interaction that CBS will offer the students. Many marketing gurus will mentor the students and also give them live projects. For further details, i suggest u visit our campus and speak to our Associate Dean Mrs.Minnie Menon.
3. As far as this year's placement goes, the lowest salary for a fresher would be 3lacs. People with work exp would expect 4-6 lacs (depending on the industry they want). Next year, these figures are bound to increase. Thus, every rupee u spend here is worth it. Plus, the fee at CBS is one of the lowest compared to B-school standards.
4. You cannot show this program to do a PhD in future. The reason is that, we haven't approached AICTE for approval. At present AICTE recognises only 2-year MBA programs. We concentrate more on industry recognition.
Hope i have answered ur queries.
Regards,
Jyotsna

Hi jyotsna,
Congrats that u have made it to Pantaloon Retail.
I am Satesh working at Polaris Software Ltd (2006-2007).My educational profile is B.Tech (I.T) (2002-2006). I have opted to take up PGDBM (I.T) at CBS.I have got few queries reg the same.
1.I have not taken up any management tests, will that be a handicapp?
2.Few institutes like Symbiosis consider 1 yr work exp for lateral placements on the contrary GLIM considers 3 yrs exp for lateral placements. How abt CBS?
Thanks & Regards
Satesh

Thank you Satesh.
No problem if you haven't taken up any competitive exam. That'll just be an addition way to portray ur intellectual ability, so its not a handicap.
I have no idea abt the criteria for lateral placements at CBS. Will find out and get back to you soon.
Take care,
Ciao.
