Manik at Great Lakes site it is mentioned that students are prepared in various verticals. What is the parameter on which it is decided that who will be "made ready" in which vertical. Or is it an open choice?

Median Salaries gives you an indication as to how the entire batch performed whereas Average gives an indication of the opportunities the batch had.
For ex, one person might get 40 L and shoot the average to 10 L, but that doesnt mean everyone got equally great packages. Median tells you if you are ranked 81 in the class where would you land, what sort of package would you get.

Manik! M I correct? | See if there are 162 people, the salary of the 81st person would be mean - So it tells you exactly the dividing line in terms of salaries, whereas the average would be sum of the salaries divided by no. of students.

Manik! M I correct? | That is mode in stats buddy. Median is mid way number in a series when arranged in either ascending or descending order. Here, Median sal means around 50% getting more than that sal and of course rest approx 50% less than that.
