Took CAT 2000 in final yr BE-bad prep-worse paper :wink:

Was too busy slogging my butt off 15 hrs/day to prepare for CAT 2001

Made huge sacrifices like forgoing an onsite opportunity and quitting my job for the re-CAT in Feb

No calls despite a net 59(IMS key).

Got a job now with a 50% pay hike but still hate being a geek

Have now decided to join IMT and get on with my MBA

Know a guy who made it to IIML on his 3rd straight attempt at CAT

Don't have the time/energy for a 3rd attempt myself but I salute all those who're giving it another shot in 2004

Could anyone working in Infosys help me to find my pace and date of joining infosys or any sort of information about my recruitment?... I m frm delhi and got the selection e-mail frm infosys about 2 months bak but still haven't got my offer letter........Kindly help......My reference no. with infosys is xxxxxx.

well guyz lemme present a diffrent PoV....at presnt i hav 2 yrs of work ex in a telecom co...gave CAT tis yr....94 %..no calls...had calls frm IIT-D/IIT-Kgp nd IMT..cudnt convert tem.. ....
planning to give CAT again..but theres a twist in d story...im very seriously thinking of resigning from my job...not a wise decission many wud say...but then im not too sure with d kind of work schedule i hav i wud manage to take out enuf time for preps.....im sure i've confused a lot of d ppl who r looking for some help..but guyz thats the kind of mess im in.... :( :( :(

Well, if thats really that bad, quit; but I would suggest you to get another job which would give you ample time to prepare for CAT.

Preparing for CAT the whole day can also lead to loss of interest during the days before CAT. Also think what are you going to tell the interviewers during the PI presuming that you bell the CAT? Will they be convinced that it was a good idea? Is that a quality that they would appreciate in a manager? Conversely, what would you do if you dont bell the CAT? Can you get back your job and present designation or better designation? Do you have alternate institutes to try? - If you dont have satisfactory answers for these, I think you stay put.

I wud say just manage your leaves strategically ....I believe taking 2 weeks off before CAT definitely helped me to get into the groove ......
