Hi all
With regards to the recent
happenings in the OBC quota issue, I want to get clarified whether I
was called under general category or OBC category.

I was not able to find the same from my call letter. It was never
said anywhere that I was called through OBC quota but they have asked
to submit all relevant community certificates if applicable. My
community falls under the OBC category and so it will be great if any one of you can clarify me on this.

buddy your profile and details might help someone figuring out your category of call... Though its IIMB... None knows the selection criteria...

It must have been mentioned in the GD PI call letter under wch category u fall. And if it wasnt then it depends on whether u applied under OBC category or not ? It doesnt matter if u belong to any caste, u need to apply for a particular category to become eligible for admission under respective quota.

If confusion still prevails u can have some idea from ur percentiles.

@Shyam, All of us are on our summers and won't be able to help u out. Please call up the admin office.

@Rahul, Please call up the admin office and see what can be done. Afaik, this is not allowed. You 'are' supposed to be present on registration day for each term, even if u miss 2 days into the program, u'll find it very difficult later on.

yaar really wen u filled in the form for iims didnt u hv any idea that u were applying under the general category or the OBC ...so i dnt think this is a relevant question...and if i m missing something then plz enlighten me as i remember that the iim form had the field for filling in ur category....and if u filled in obc then u wud hv been called as obc and if not thru that then u can frgt being called thru general as the cutoff was a little higher...

hehe buddy you dont even know this guy's percentile and profile..... and you are asking him to forget about being called... your conclusion may be right but your reasoning is wrong...

And as far as B calls, if Mehul Agarwal can get a reject, the its unlikely to decide what the cutoffs could be...

I think if ones score is good and he belong to OBC, there are chances that he may still fall under the general category. But at the time of applying, all OBC candidates would have marked as OBC invariably. I would like to know whether is there any way we can find from the call letters fr GD/PI which was issued on assessing our percentiles ?
