Any other special thing abt u:

GD:
Topic: case discussion - in short this is what the case had, a young accountant's directed by one of the directors of the company to cut a check for 25lacs for a charitable trust, without any approvals. This high amount is not justified considering the company's financial performance. how does he handleit??
Number of Ppl present 8
Time: 10 to read, 15 to discuss and 15 to write summary
Brief Snapshot of Discussion: the decibel levels kept goin high on and off.. overall a gud discussion.

PI:
2 very courteous profs. a lady and a guy.. make you feel comfortable right from the the start..

my interview was too customised to my profile so the questions wouldnt be of any consequence to anybody..

so i'll not waste effort typing the intricate details but here's a brief overview.. the discussion was on my extra currics (been actively involved right from my college days) then moved on to how I've continued now that i'm working.. then moved on to work life balance.. then specifics of my team size and the nature of my work.. more about extra currics and then it ended.

(if anybody needs any more details let me know)
MISC.

we were only 8 called for interviews today.. all 8 engineers our names were already pasted outside the room for the interviews.. we all were there by 8.45 the profs walked in by 8.50.. 9:00 they called us in briefed about the GD process, followed by GD, and summary writing.. all of us were done in around 10 mins!

we were told that we'd be called for the int in the same order as mentioned in the notice outside, also we were told the interviews wud last 15-20 mins so the junta who had interviews later cud take a stroll around campus and return after a while.. I was the second so didnt have the luxury of takin a stroll..

Overall gut feel - chillmax panel.. be sincere in what you say and you'll feel like just another coffee conversation with a friendly duo..

domain specific as in??

I wasnt quizzed much on IT, I was asked about the technologies I specialise in and the current trends in the specific tech..

with regards to banking I was just asked who are my customers(as in the actual bankers or business analysts or application developers etc) and what is the level of exposure I have to the actual bankers!

Honestly I'm not clear about your question, hope I answered it nevertheless, let me know if I've got your question wrong altogether..

Like I've already said my interview was mostly on my extra-currics

Place - Delhi
Date - 13th feb 9.00 am batch

Panelists - 2.

GD - topic discussed earlier.. same as in Bangalore... Art of refusal.. How to refuse a strong member of Board of Directors a request of a 25 lac rupees cheque for donation to a trust.. The GD was good with everyone contributing.. I came in 4-5 times with 2-3 points taken by the group..

PI -
Questions:

Track 1: 10 mins

>Where did I do my schooling from?

>If someone wants to open an industry or a big shop of his own do he need to pay ransom/extortion money to ULFA? (I am from Assam)

>What did u do in the period from May 2005(college ending) and Nov 2005 (joining in company)? I joined as a volunteer in CIC, Community Information Center and worked for 5 months.

>How can we improved the performance of CICs?

>What is the difference between CICs and e-choupal?

>Is e-choupal entirely a CSR initiative?

>How to generate motivation for rural development among CIC operators?

>Does the farmer need a CIC to improve his farming techniques? Dept. of Agriculture is there for them.

Track 2 - 5 mins

>Name the dances of South India?

>How far have you gone towards South India? >Bangalore<

>What do you do in your company?

>Difference between Routers and Switches?

>Difference between layer-2 and layer-3 switches?

>Name an Indian Company having Telecom products as routers and switches? I told Juniper.. They said its an American company.. I went on to say it has been started by an Indian.. ) All of us laughed..

Track -3 5 mins

>Why MBA? from IIM?

>Plan in life?

>People from North East tend to neglect their region after making good for themselves(I told I would open an NGO sometime in the future in Assam)?

>You might have come prepared to create a sympathetic environment with ideas like NGO?

Overall:
Dealt with the bouncers carefully.
They seem to have a preconcieved view about NE people.(Or were they stressing me up)
An average performance overall.
Tomorrow IITKGP intv!!!

All the best to rest of the janta!!

Center: New Delhi
13/02, Time 2:30 pm

Cat% 99.84
Quant 98.99
DI 99.92
VA 92.27

Profile: 2 years Workex as Software Engineer
Graduated from IIT Bombay 2005, CGPA : 8.69/10

Xth 88.60%
XIIth 85.4%

Case Study:
8 of us were there..
A company want to market its milk product. want to target youth . Company apprehensive whether to market it as a 'cool' product or to market it as a 'healthy' product. Discussions around how to market. Abt collaboration with CCD/Barrista.

GD went around for 15 mins. Sufficient time to read the case and make points, and also sufficient time to write the summary in the end.

PI:
Two profs, one cool, one not so cool

Talked about workex, How is my company's business line unique. Tried to stress me out by saying that ur company is basically making fool of you.
Guess I handled it well.

Then they asked about major exports and Imports of India, about India's GDP, about purchasing power parity.
I explained purchasing power parity, but goofed up a lil bit with USD to rupee exchange rate.

Then they asked my about my hobbies, which Hindi movie I watched last..I said Traffic Signal.

Some problem with my connection.. will continue from where I left.

From Traffic Signal they came to Madhur Bhandarkar and then Corporate and Page 3.
My views about the movies.

Then they asked me, why should be take you?
Give me some evidence that you will make a good manager..

Didnt grill much on it, and it was over.

Overall I would say OK types.. I goofed with USD to Rupee exchange so I dunno how is it going to affect. Fingers crossed..

Adios.

I typed the whole interview experience few minutes back and then suddenly some connection problem propped up and lost all the data. Sorry guys. Going for dinner. Will try and come up with the detailed post hopefully by tonight or atleast by tomorrow.

P.S - Request to all the people who had their interview in Delhi, please mention the specific place at which interview was conducted as there are 2 centres in Delhi (I believe Shangrilla Hotel and Nikko Hotel) where interviews are being simultaneously conducted.
