All those with 95%ile in CAT and above (with 50%ile and above sectionals)
have made it to second round....of the admissions process..!!
You can shoot up any and every query you have about the GD/PI process at IMI..here..
For the initial brief:
IMI used the following procedure last year to finally shortlist students :
CAT Score: 40%
Extempore: 10%
Essay Writing: 10%
Personal Interview(inc. acads/work-ex etc.): 40%

this might sound silly........but can u ppl tel me wat "EXTEMPORE" actually means.....  .?.....wat are we expected to do in extempore....? wat quality in us is imi tryin to exploit by conducting this extempore..  .?????? | | | | | | | |

Extempore means that u are given a topic nd u are asked to speak on it for 3 minutes or so .The catch is that u don't get time to think over the topic.
By extempore IMI tests ur creativity,knowledge,oratory skills,confidence,how fast can u think, and how well can u relate ur knowledge with the topic
Well the extempore topics are contemporary.
A few tips about extempore....
Finish ur part before the time limit that is given to you expires..
Be very confident and while speaking look at all the members and the judges off course..there should be a confident eye contact

I mean frankly, if i'd be given this topic to write on, i wudnt b able to write more than 1 paragraph. Were you aware of this topic, corporate governance?

i was a bit aware and the topic was not exactly corporate governance it was a more detailed one....some thing that helped me to think.
Well the key is that just be aware of what is happening around you and also of the important terms like these and what they mean in the contemporary environment..!!
