Anyways, you guys are doing great. And Kitty, thats an amazing schedule. 2 hours a day, and you will sail through.
For all others, whose weakness is QA, I have an advice for you. The best way to improve your QA skills, is to have a big repository of theorems. Make sure that you have at least the basic theorems of each chapter in place. For example, if you were to be studying Number Theory, then the theorem list should include the Cyclicity property, the basic squares, the last digit of squares etc.
Once the repository is large enough, you will be able to relate them to the data given, thereby solving the problem faster. While practising Maths, make sure that you keep analysing the given data. This, is very useful.
Also, people who are good in DI, should be good in QA if their repository of theorems in large.

This was just my gyaan on QA. QA was a nightmare for me too. I started off with a 86.3 percentile in CAT 05, then 93.5 in XAT 06, then 94.8 in CAT 06, and finally 98.5 in XAT 07. All this because of building my database.

All the best to all here. I hope not to compete against you.

HI Puys
I am back from my 1 year long awaited break. Good to see the thread doing fine with active participation of the members.
I went through all the post which I missed in last couple of weeks. Few good initiatives taken like TIP OF THE DAY by Priyanka. Its really nice. Thanks Priyanka ... its is going to really useful , at least for me.
In my vacation I read "The Alchemist". its simply awsome and highly motivating. and now I am reading "Afterwards". Its also sounding good.
Right now I will continue concetrating on only reading Novels for a month and then will start with my quant and DI.
My two cents for the TIP OF THE DAY ...
What I feel is that CAT is no longer a speed test. your accuracy is going to matter more than your speed. Building speed is always good but make sure u don't compromise on ur accuracy. The toughness of QA and DILR has went down in past years, length of RC passages have been reduced and even the number of questions have been slashed down and also the test duration is increased ... all these clearly implement that "ACCURACY" is going to be the key to CAT'07. So even while taking 40 min or 20 min tests make sure whatever u attempt u get is right.
cheers
Neeraj
Cheers!!!

I would agree to that. My roomie during engineering had joined ******** coaching (delhi) for GRE prep. There they gave him world lists which had similar/related words grouped together.... It helped him immensely...
I wish I had taken a copy of those lists :(

at all:
I wish I could share that database, but its stuck in the confines of my head. So, sharing is out.
What I suggest is to use the threads provided by Tanveer. His sticky thread is unbelievably useful. People make sure that you go through that thread. Did it, and it paid results.
Tanveer, there is this thread which has a set of formulae for last minute revision for CAT. Please hunt it out. I was unable to do so. Its quite useful.
Priyanka, there is no need to memorize proofs. Application of proofs, are more than sufficient. But, if you are someone like me, who believes in relating to the theorem, proofs would be required. For example, there are theorems such as external angle bisector theorem, which I still cant use, since I am unable to relate to them. Proofs are optional, but not unadvised.
Hope this helps.
And please pray for me. I have IIMC GD/PI today.
Regards,
Sunil

'TAG' Feature on PG -
13-03-2007, 09:34 AM
Hi Puys,
This is for those of you who have a tough time searching for threads that you have seen earlier on PG and want to locate again.
Click the 'tags' link in my signature.
Or click on this url..
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/tags/
In the search box provided on the page just type in 1 word that you think might be in the
title of the thread...
For example if I am looking for something like 'last minute notes'..I may type in 'last' or 'minute' or 'notes'...
This type of search throws up more relevant theads ..I feel..

Tanveer
