1. As far as no of calls by IIML , I visited PGP office but it was closed as IIML relust came out at 5.00 p.m. In either case, newspapers will publish about the same after K calls come out!

2. Freshers : Please concentrate on academics , GK and hobbies

Marketing at IIML is very good. Especially the placements compare with any of the other IIMs. All the major Companies turn up. And profiles on offer are the same as offered at IIMA. I am stressing on profiles because the same companies offer different profiles in different colleges. And IIML gets the best profile on offer across any IIM.

Regarding what subjects in engineering to be concentrated upon for PI

1) Concentrate on Math related subjects -- questions from subjects like Linear Programming and Statistics are most commonly asked

2) 50% of my interview was on 11th std chemistry for which u can never be prepared.It just happened. So how much ever u prepare, u might still be caught off guard.

Sample Questions from my interview:

Whats ur name?
Suraj

Achcha Suraj, how many Surajs are there in the universe
blah blah

Which stage of life cycle of a star is Sun currently in??
blah blah

What reaction takes place in a star?
blah blah

Ok give me the equation of that reaction?

What are the by products?
alpha particle......

ok whats alpha particle
2He4

ok Helium, tell me the first 20 elements in a periodic table
hydrogen, helium..........

tell me who designed the periodic table
mendeleev

how many periods are there in a periodic table...


This was how my whole interview went. Some arbit questions for which no amount of prep can help.

Not a single question on extra currics was asked.Nothing on work ex. Nothing on engineering.

But Some other interviews were wholly on engineering mathematics. Some on Software engg.

So stay cool and crack the interview.
