The original article has missed out an important element...Timing. This has nothing to do (directly) with the school itself, but more to do with the candidate.
With the overwhelming choice of programs, where you currently are in your career also becomes an important parameter to consider.
For Indian Bschools accepting applications from fresh graduates is almost a non-issue. But overseas schools insist on a minimum threshold of practical, roll-up-your-sleeves hands-on experience. Again, there's a considerable difference when it comes to US/European schools, Exec MBA programs etc. So time it well.
