Preparation Agenda For CAT 2007 -
19-02-2007, 11:56 PM
The most important factor in CAT prep is to keep motivation levels high throughout the year. And for that reason this thread on PG is 'must visit' to feel inspired. Anytime I feel low I go back to reading the experiences of those who have blazed the trail before us.
All I wanted to speak about (All I wanted to speak about CAT) (All I wanted to Speak about CAT)CAT
Happy Reading ....

Its not like that..in some cos they track the internet usage..n if we go to some of the websites like PG..there are chances that they may ve an eye or track on me and my usage (as that means i m goin to do an MBA and goin to quit my work)
second thing....everybody knows PG..so if a non mba aspirant sees me in PG he might spread the word which is not that good in a work place..
n in mid size cos like my co..chances are high that my appraisal might me affected..thats y
n sorry for the delay..was busy with my work for the past few days...will start a yahoo grp within the end of this week

U r welcome maverick (aka tommy bhaiya of top gun... pun intended )..... u would be placed in the metros... that goes for any big multinationals....
dont worry dude u wont be placed in andaman and nicobar islands (just joking, waise if anyone on the forum is from A&N my sincerest apologies )
well its more or less certain u would be placed in Mumbai ( the finance capital of india ).... like Lehmann Brothers India Outsourcing hub is in mumbai..
Duetsche Bank is in Delhi... Bank of America is in Delhi... dont worry about that dude... if u r in a finance job in an I bank than surely these are ur destinations mumbai, kolkatta, delhi, bang, etc.
to be very frank life aint easy in a IIM... first only gun to reach an I bank rather than worrying about where they are based... u will be paid in gold so even u can invite ur friends to live off u.
U will be grilled for two years... and believe even is u get into an IIM to be in the top 20 of the batch will be a huge achievement in itself... just imagine the competition u will face there but if u r an IIT 9 pointer then u neednt worry.

I think CL's material is pretty decent overall. Get that from Ber Sarai since you are from Delhi. The new photocopied set will cost you 1400-1500 and it will be at the most last years material. For more info PM me.
TIME is of course the best fro QA. Just keep a lookout on PG for ppl taking material from TIME. If he/she is in you city PM and try to work out an exchange of photocopies.
At least thats what I did for the mocks last year..and Thats how I met Bugs of PG!!
One piee of advice ..dont worry too much abt materials ..more or less they are the same and after you have covered the basics you can cover some of the weaker areas in other ways if you want..but get going quick.!!
Time runs fast when you are doin CAT prep!!

Hi Tanveer,
I am new member of this thread and I am following IMS material as of now. But I want to know, if you have any idea about TIME's Quant book; is it worth purchasing ?
Please tell me if you have come across this book.
Thanks
Ashish

Hi All,
This is something useful I found.
ScoreTop
This document has around 3000 RCs for GMAT purpose...
The advantages from CAT perspective are:
1. Lots of inferential questions
2. 5 options.
Hope it helps!
Cheers!
PS: I couldnt upload because the size of the doc was 7mb

Re: Preparation Agenda For CAT 2007 -

Hi All,
This is my first Post on PG.....
I have started with my prep for CAT 2007,on slow but steady pace....
Since am working so dont get too much of time for studies but still somehow i manage to remove 1.5 to 2 hrs for Maths and DI everyday after reaching home.
For verbal i practise 2 passage everyday in office after lunch time....which i feel is enough to assess my accuarcy and speed.....Also read Frontline online(One topic everyday....)
Also i read Word Power while am travelling to office......
This is wat am doing currently but would want to speed it up in coming months.....before i start with Mocks.....
I would really appreciate if someone can suggest to me wat else can i do for my prep for CAT-07...
Thanks & Regards

Well why u wanna be stereotypical... when u have said u have already given CAT once... why do u want to go through the material again... why dont u go directly with the last year mocks ( buy a time, pt, cl photostat material and do it thoroughly... also buy the answer keys ).... it will help u a lot..... also now its time to up the ante.... study smartly and things of more relevance ...... in verbal... go for GMAT books they will bring up the way of thinking in rc, critical, fill in the blank and sentence correction
even if it doesnt happen it will surely help u in in improving ur analysis power.... note that CAT is shifting to GMAT pattern so just master GMAT verbal.... for quant and di solve as many quality questions and caselets as much as u can... dont waste ur time in doing easy questions or sitters...
please note that this suggestion is only for marijuana_user who has given CAT for one year and its his second try... for all those who are giving CAT for the first time.... kindly dont pay heed to this advice
( GOOD NEWS FOR ALL TECH FREAKS... I CAME TO KNOW NOW THE 4 GB PEN DRIVE WILL BE AVAILABLE for RS. 500 from next week onwards )

Good book! but the concepts gets repeated in the later chapters...quite interesting in the first few chapters...
In addition to the link, i think this thread should be very important from CAT perspective (at least from the mock cats..as CAT-05&06 had 20% weightage to these types of questions)
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/englis...ntences-8.html (Thread for Deleted Sentences)
Friends, do you have any source for FIJ questions (refer verbal (!) CAT-06)?
Cheers!
