Alternatively, what we can do is we can open another threads and discuss our Quant problems there. In this way, user-related and interest-related threads will be there. A person who wants general info about CAT will visit this thread and a person who wants to go more deeper in maths will go to that threads of quantz problem section. We can also open specific threads on the basis of materials like discussion of QUANTZ problems of TIME or IMS or PT or ARUN SHARMA or ABHIJIT GUHA, etc. In this way, we can also get an idea how is the material of other institutes. If everybody is ready then we shouldn't wait to open a new thread and discuss our quantz problems.

I request all the puys to give suggestions on this.

Thank You.

Warm Regards,
Shalin Jain
suggestion starts-------no need to open too much threads, use the existing ones, they have a wide variety of questions and solutions posted by different people.THERE IS REALLY NO NEED TO OPEN BOOK SPECIFIC THREAD.---------------suggestion ends
hope this thread opening mania also ends

Hey puys!!! I too feel the same. There are already many threads on quant where problems can be discussed. And please don't discuss QA problems here as this is only for CAT agenda..

Guys just gave CAT 2006 what i suggest u is to give a huge stress on vocablary for example u can use google image to understand the meaning of words,DI and LR it happens with time, but u guys need to concentrate on quants section what i suggest is first go through all the formulaes of geometry and mensuration along with it by the end of feb try to master chapters like progression and Numbersystem, followed by permutation and combination, probabality by may end.
Happy meaoooooooooooing

Re: Preparation Agenda For CAT 2007 - 07-12-2006, 10:14 AM

Hi ppl,
Count me in for the CAT 07 preparation...I think apart from reading a good newspaper daily we have to try to finish a good novel (preferably Non-ficiton) a week or say 10 days and try to read atleast 3-4 articles from guardian.co.uk website....this is becoz the CAT is moving more towards gmat and reading these sort of stuff would really help in the long run...Rather than focussing more on speed I think we should focus more on the content we read.
For Quant if we can do the books by Arun sharma and Trishna Series I think it would do lots of good for us.
For DI , again as CAT is becoming more logic and reasoning oriented rather than the usual data intrepretation stuff we should try to complete "The great book of puzzles" by George Summers and then try to solve all the DI and logic questions from previous years mocks of various institutes...

In the end my point is before we go to attend any mock series we should be strong in 2 sections and good/average in the third section...

PS: This is my personal opinon for CAT preparation...Any comments are welcome....

regards,
Murthy

2 newspapers per day:good enough
and a magazine per day: more than enough
and Henry Kissinger too: much more than enough
if u r reading all this to develop ur reading habit, only then it is good.but if u continue like this for 4-5 months.it will only augment stress building and your efficacy will take a dip.when ur reading habit will be developed to a comfortable extent, start analysing each and everything u read, try to look for grammatical errors( u will surely find them) observe the style of writing.try to understand the usage of words.if u will do all these things ,u will not have time to read evrything u r reading now(frankly......) but preparation will be on right track.

Hi!
You won't directly get CAT question paper from any site as they are the copyrights of IIM. I have heard that U can get some question papers book like OSWAL, etc. Search in any book-shop.

Thank You.
