The article is good (best part being taking a look at the overall picture wallah funda) but hypes up the managing and strategising part of CAT to obscene levels.
Fact is 50% of the ppl who clear CAT dont know a rodents a$$ abt what managing time is all abt

Its just that these folks have the aptitude thats necessary to be able to crack the exam any given day. 25% of the folks get lucky and the rest are there by hard work and a lil bit of luck. And I can tell you for sure, not many of them approach CAT like a manager, barring a few gyaani souls like me

But hell, even I fluked a 2-marker in QA, but for that I wud still be coding for money
At the end of the day strategy is important but it can never get u marks. It can only ensure that you dont screw up on D-day, something which folks never seem to realise during their CAT prep. Blokes spend obscene amounts of time on strategising and neglect the obvious - building competency. Strategy is something akin to quality processes, they dont ensure that u come with a good product but can only mitigate risk. So get down to the basics, build competency and experiment a lil bit with strategy and settle for something thats flexible and have the balls to back your judgement. And yeah, shoot down those silly insti folks who tell u that any tom, **** or harry can clear CAT by writing 25 mocks and attending their classes for 1 year.
