i came across on the UBS website that if youre working, you need a no objection certificate from your company. Now obviously since mycompany does not sponsor any candidates for mba, its not going to be possible to get an NOC. is there any way out of this or is it that i cant apply to UBS because of this?

A NOC is basically same as a relieving letter, it verifies the work experience you claimed in your form and that you have no other obligations to the employer.

I would suggest you appear thru the admission process till GD/PI without the NOC. At that time you can give a undertaking that if granted admission you will provide the same. If you do get thru, then ask for NOC from the company.

Do confirm with the UBS office and admission brochure regarding this.

Dude, no NRI will ever think of joining UBS, they have loads of better options . In UBS, the seats under NRI/NRI sponsored category are always filled up by resident Indians. In the application, there will be an option for NRI Sponsored category, tick that. Now depending upon your CAT scores, you may get a call in Open category, NRI sponsored category, or even both categories. Go for GD/PI. Then final scores are tabulated, & you get a seat, it could be in any category, not both . You then pay the fees for that category you're selected in. No, only 1 form will suffice.

Regards hostel, Gaurav will be online to answer your queries, though I'm also a Chandigarh guy & have visited the hostels all through my college days here, I had loads of friends in the University hostels, I will not comment on that aspect.

All MBA students get individual acco. Its a government funded univ so dont expect ACs, attached bathrooms and all that wiz band. Otherwise the hostels have a great ambience with large lawns etc. Bijli paani is rarely a problem.

But if you are used to bathing with warm water even in summers then be mentally prepared for chilled chandigarh water! No.1 reason why hostelers are usually the most unkept of the lot!
PS: dont worry we have geysers working in winters!

In UBS Chandigarh form/prospectus, it is mentioned that if there is a gap between the last exam taken and the year in which admission is sought, the student has to produce acertificate which states that the sudent was not invloved in any criminal offence during this gap period.

Now, this is absolutely absurd thing. What about persons who have been working after their degree program. Work-experience itself shows that they have not been involved in any "criminal offence". How should one get this certificate?

Urgent Clarification needed.....
