What sort of score does SPJIMR accepts?? I heard that they put a lot of weightage on various other factors and not only CAT score for giving a call. Which are those factors??

Ya. SP puts a stress on lots of other factors like extracurriculars, academics records, value system etc. It tries to take into consideration about what you are as a person and not just your CAT score. Saying this, i would like to stress that CAT score is also important. Just that it is not THE most important here.

hello puys...my performance in d mocks has not been consistent till now....fluctuating between 90+ to just 78 %ile......nd i'm facing a gr8 difficulty in VA...not able 2 comprehend d passages,even d grammamr ques. go wrong....how do i improve upon tht??..nd also...plz advise me out as to how do i increase my speed while solving d paper...??..

you have posted your query on the wrong thread...

anyways the scope of your question is too broad for me to attempt to give you a full qualified answer here...well VA is one section where its hard to find a perfect answer to any problems...the best you can do to improve is practice...there are a lot of threads here on PG to help you out with this...check out the link attached below and follow the threads in this section religiously...

i have currently 25 months of it exp in infy..

wish to crack the iims this year...

gave my first attempt last year...got 90%ile..

my percentiles in time mock cat's started off with 68-70 and gradually went up to 90's....the highest being 95.94 in 0805....was almost consistently scoring 90+ but never got >96....

got busy wid a very hectic work schedule after cat i.e from nov to lAST month....

finally decided that l give it one more shot this tym as well...

have joined the mock series and started prep too...i'd say' it's going good...

my academics:

Xth - 86.4
xiith 81

b,tech 68%

with infy for two years now...

1. Will it be wise now to do an mba outside systems say in finance\accts. and start afresh....?(considering that il have almost 3 yrs IT exp by next year)

2. which are the institutes i shud be applying to..likely to get thru considering that il improve further and score ...err...hopefully not less than 95-96....i wud want to get a 99+ though....i think it's possible...

Friends please reply...hope my questions are not irrelevant vis-a-vis the purpose of this thread...

It depends a lot on various factors. One of them is how others have performed. Last year, if I am not mistaken, 26-27% marks got 90%ile.

Look dude ...Mock scores makes a lot of difference, not to your chances in CAT but more to your own confidence...so don worry much bout the scores you are getting in mocks , though try your best. It all boils down to D-day , how well u can perform on that day.
Answer to your first question - Its your choice whether u want to specialize in systems, finance or marketing...it has nothing to do with ur work ex...In my batch at NIRMA we have 60 guys with IT exp of more than 2 years. Almost all of them have worked with IT majors like Infy , TCS , Satyam , Cognizant , Verizon , Patni including me, i have worked with Satyam for 3 years before joining the institute:bigear:. Most of them scored above 95 percentile and no one is looking for Majors in Systems...So its ur choice.
Apply to colleges like Glakes, IMI , TAPMI , NIRMA , IMT G, KJ SOM, SIBM , SCMHRD, and other top B-schools. It all depends how eager u r to do MBA rite now..
Make ur decision wisely...

well need a favour...actually the toghest part of this CAT experience seems in choosing where to apply :( I m a fresher..and have already heard so much abt work experience and extra curriculurs that already i hv had to rethink my options plenty of times...so needed this favour...if someone can guide me through all the forms, where to apply and where to not..

I feel there are some constraints with me...being a fresher with not much of extra curriculurs..and i have a budget for 10000-12000 approx..my performances have been good somewhat...have joined IMS and PT...in 3 IMS tests i hv got 98.31,99.12,99.81 percentile scores...but hv missed VA cutoffs twice...its my weak section...same in 1 test in PT..99.985 score but missed VA cutoff..

CAT is a dream but and i m working at VA but if i miss out..i knw i can atlst get a good score overall..90+ and maybe 95+..even on a bad day hopefully.So what must i fill..i already took the CAT and IBSAT(as an emergency backup) form..wasnt interested in IIFT but now my coaching guys are asking to fill it..since they had a good conversion rate there last time..So what do I do...also JMET and SNAP ask you to fill colleges nd test individually..so keeping that in mind..what must i fill..?? say among MDI, SPJAIN, FMS, IMI, IMT, TAPMI, NITIE...???

Also i heard Golden Lakes has a 1 year program...so neednt fill that up..would be great if someone could help..i know its a series of questions..but ay help would be nice..i lack a mentor as of now :(
