SP Jain Interview calls/experiences

Hi guys !
this is myfirst mail to the group .workex of 1 year in TATA MOTORS IIT -pass out.i got a call for interview to be held on 25th march in kolkata.This was on 17th mar .the next day i got amail to update my CAT reg no. Guys I tried updating the reg. no but it didn't work so i sent amail to Varsha citing all the details.
Also i hv a problem Rite now i am in Cochin ( Kerala ) and its really very difficult for me to reach CAL on 25th so i hv asked for a change in venue or postponement of the date.Is there nebody elsewho is faced with the same dilemma ???? Guys ne suggestions for me...?

may be my fresher factor did me in...was expecting 51-52 in CAT...

As if the weird way of giving calls by IIMs was not enuf,now SP Jain admission process has also left me totally perplexed...
i hv almost 3 yrs workex...
gud acads.....nd cat score of arnd 52 (min. )
dont know y i m not even shortlisted............

neways...hoping fr calls frm mdi/nitie now...

Hello Mumbai Guys!

I finally got a call thru courier! These r my inferences:

1. They have sent calls by couriers to many of my friends in this thrid list and not emails. So all of u guys who have been waiting with some hopes remaining, just wait for a couple of days more.Or call up the office to check whats happening with ur application.

2. I have an abysmal cat score. Could be some early 40s. But a good acads (school toppers and state merit ranks in SSc and HSC) and a consistent performance of a First clss with distinction thru out my acads.

3. Work ex of some 4 months wiht an investment bank and 2 months in the entertainment sector as a vocalist

4. Good extra curriculars -- indian classical music. My essay is ful of ibanking and music stories

Amongst other call getters, i believe they got selected probably because they have good acads. I seriously think acads r a major deciding factor!

All u guys in Mumbai having ur interviews on 30th march in the afternoon? plz PING me....v shall meet there!.....i guess i can sligthtly help few of u'll since i just had a good PI and GI process at SPjain for their programme in DUbai.
Panel consisted of Mr. Nitin Jain (director if SPJIMR) and Mr.Hanif (Director of SPJCM). and the GI was really different for a change!

finally landed up first cat based call. mine is on 31st march mumbai. got call after updating new cat regd no. I have opted for ops and manu. Last year also got call applied for finance, but felt they did not like my profile fit for finance so changed this time. I do not why IIMs do not even consider for a call!
any way waiting for MDI and Nitie also
any one having interview on 31st march in mumbai in ops and manu etc please inform me...

I am quite worried abt SP Jain call it has given calls before cat results 2 large no. of
students . I wud like 2 ask whether the institute is goin 2 give some more calls after cat result

i got the mail notifying call from SP jain on 17th March.
I have done my bachelors in comp. appli. 91%, uni. ranker.
worke ex: 9 months(local IT firm)
specialization opted : marketing.
interview on 30th.

Guys I finished my interview process at SPJIMR on the 21st of Feb. I've received an email from Varsha Parab (Registrar SPJIMR) requesting me to goto Mumbai to appear in a Managerial Aptitude Test.

Can someone please throw some light on this... What is the MAT like????

The following is the email that I have recieved.

Dear DHINGRA ABHISHEK,

Thank you for your participation in the SPJIMR interview process. You are required to take a MAT (Managerial Aptitude Test), which would help us complete the process.

The venue and dates for the test are given as follows :

hey ppl!

i attended my spjain interview on 13th march in mumbai (pre cat call) ... things went off ok ... made it to the 2nd round as well ... also had a psychometric test ...

lo and behold in my mailbox i find another mail from varsha parab, calling me for a final round of interview! in bangalore this time! the mail also says that i may/may not have to take a managerial aptitude test!

i'm dying to get into this coll ... but ... another interview?

has anyone else recd such a mail?
