so i think the emphasis on essays is little less.....
this is only a guess ...can any one in helping me....in knowing the right thing.....
so my appeal to all pg members is if u have 80+ thruout carrer have the fun of a call from spjain....
any one are they really stringent on essays.....
so that i can also conclude to myself that i have good essya.....
are they any one who misedd it....
During my interview the first panel grilled some of us on the essays. One candidate ( who went thru to the 2nd round) was asked why there was space left at the end of the essays, and spacing was less at the start- with insinuation that the essays were not of his own to boot (handwritings seemed different for different answers ). His form was displayed as illustration (but it was there for all of us to see as well. ) He explained that he tried out the online option first, where the space was less, so later...etc . Another girl was outright told that she had made countless grammatical and spelling mistakes- after she was asked how she would rate herself in English!

I felt they were looking for some congruency: at the least we should try to run a spell and grammar -check, and write legibly.
Also keep a copy of your essays with u, coz u'll be asked Qs to verify whether what u wrote was in tune with what u speak.

All the best...
Cheers, maloy

SPJIMR is famous for doing these things. They send calls based on profiles if :

1. you have a lot of work-ex (exceeding 2 years)
2. Exceptional Acads.

.

Unfortunately I have none. I did get a call for SPJIMR Dubai, however.

Ok, I've applied for SP Jain long back. I don't remember taking down the application number.

Is there any way of obtaining the number? I don't have the envelope, just the prospectus and CD.

The reason I was asking was cause I wanted to check up on the call checking facility their website.

help!

Hey maloy,
Did they grill u/nyone on the first specialisation given in the form ??? Say, since I've given Mar do they expect me to know Kotler ??!! Ok they can expect me to know Kotler, but what about details regarding branding or mar strategy and all ?? Do u think I should put time into learning a bit bout these or whatever "Engineering" we've studied over the useless 4 years would suffice ?? :P

I don't think so! None were asked about theory- not even freshers I frankly don't see any point in asking a 2/3/4 yr or more work-exp guy to answer theory about such academics: else would have applied to Nitie/Jmet. They were more of trying to get around to knowing u as an all-round person and see ur motivation for the course and whether the way u've filled ur form/ or the way u answer them is consistent with that.

Saw in another thread something about ladies being presentable / social work etc.- If u carry it off well (we had an exceptionally qualified Miss World in our midst ), BTW she was asked whether she felt it was better to be in social-work from A/c rooms instead of on the field- in the villages- she really parried the barbs well - u gotta show ur maturity and composure and don't get flustered!

Cheers, maloy
