You cannot compare IMT Nagpur and IMI as such..

IMT Nagpur is very new and it doesnt figure in any of the B school comparision lists available with coaching institutes or business magazines..

While IMI is a pretty much established institute and have a reputation to themselves

IMT Nagpur Advantage:
1. Brand Name: IMT has been an established and a trusted brand name for some years
2. Academics: IMT Nagpur has garnered superb acadmeicians from IIM's, MDI, GIM & such other established institutes. IMT Nagpur' Director Dr. Anwar Ali is an alumni of IIT Kanpur, IIM Cal & a senior proffessor at MDI Gurgaon.(He is one of the best faculty for Supply Chain Management in India)
3. Infrastructure: Being a full time-residential course,the infrastructure can be compared to one of the better instiitutes and conducive for learning.IMT is wi-fi enabled and you can access net anywhere in the campus ( barring a few places)

4. Placements: Growing........last year average was 4.6lakhs ,this time it can touch 5 lakhs easily

IMI has a big advantage being in New Delhi
While IMT Nagpur is far away from city(1 hr distance) but the place is such that you will fall in love with the countryside.(If you want I can send some pictures)

what are my chances in IMT nagpur not G as my acads are poor.

do u have any friend having poor acads there or should i ask about the guy u have seen with bad acads. ?

See chakrabirsingh,it all depends how u justify ur poor acads

i got 59% in grads..but i had decent co-ciricular and i justified dat i was busy in other activites..

n u shuld b able 2 handle queries of what u tell..like i said..i was into equity markets,business of dad,cricket,etcso u have 2 manipulate ur resources..

abt IMT N n G..cant tell much..it all depends on the panelist..people with more than 95% gets a call from IMT G,90-95 odd %ile gets call from IMT N..

I just checked the placement page of IMT-N. It only mentions the highest and the average salary.

Could you tell us about the median and the lowest salary? Could you also tell about the job profiles and placements in a bit more detail?

the batch which passed out last year was the 1st batch of IMT Nagpur...

abt the lowest salary it was around 3 lakhs

and the median salary figure would come to around 4.1 lakhs..(it is approx)

IMT Nagpur is more academically focused..and abt salary,salary would definately pick up once it leaves an impression with the corporates..after the first batch has been placed,we expectin a gud response from corporates..

job profile would depend on the profile of the students..job profile varied from sectors..as companies visting campus were from Finance,Marketing,Operations,etc

obviously the cut off for imt-ghz will be higher than imt-nagpur so what i want to know guys is in such a case wherin a candidate applying for imt gets around say a 98 percentile does he get a call only from imt-g or he gets a call from both because obviously with two calls under your belt your chances of converting a call automatically become bright...

sorry for d delay in answerin ur query,we r busy with our annual fest(17-18 Oct) work..

anyways,abt gettin calls,if u get 98 %ile,u will get calls from both d colleges....

actually d procedure is a bit different,u r asked 2 fill up preferences like IMT Ghazibad Finance or say IMT Nagpur HR..n according to d preferences u get d call letter...they ask u 2 mark 5 preferences...make sure u mark preferences of both the colleges if u want 2 apply for nagpur also..

it may b d case dat IMT Nagpur's general (marketing n operations) course may require more cut off than say IMT Ghaziabad's HR course...

Last year the admission process was unified for both Ghaziabad and Nagpur..cant say about this year..

hi rini,

In IMT Nagpur,CAT score has more weightage...its more than 2/3rd..so a gud CAT is half way done...

Work ex is not such a necessary criteria..but its always preferable..
u get a preference no doubt..

in my view,people with work-ex understand d theories of management much better dan freshers,I hav a work-ex n I can see dat...

and right now,i would suggest u 2 concentrate on CAT...best of luck...
