Sdould one take long leave from work before CAT? - 09-08-2006, 08:09 PM

Hi Guys!

CAT is the mother of all MBA exams. The working "professionals" dont get much time to cover up stuffs . Keepning these two things in mind...should a working "professional" take a long leave (say 2-3 weeks stating either jaundice, maleria etc) before CAT.

As CAT is more of aptitude test so is it advisable. I wish those who have made it in the writtens please throw a light on this as my chances of taking leaves is remote

Others views are also welcome !

Thanks!

Well it depends. If your preparation stands at zero and you really feel that the leave can help you out, take it. But my advice is take leave for a month.

i dont think leaves and all make much of a difference, after all cat is just an aptitude test.... i think mocks on weekends are decent enuf prep and one need not be too psyche abt this prep... just need to maintain cool calm and focus...

i know taking a big leave at office could have repurcussions so do it only if u are comfortable enuf bec u may need to save ur leaves for the interviews in case u get a call.. and there wud definitely be no option to that....

Well, I think long leaves do not help, esp when you have stated the reason as malaria, etc since you will be more worried about being caught. I do think a weeks leave before the exam is sufficient so long as you have been preparing for months. the last week's leave will help develop focus and concentration... cheers

I dont think u need to take leaves for CAT...Just be systematic in your prep... and be focussed... that way even an hour a day is enuf...

Believe me... CAT is more about the orientation n focus than just slogging....

And i too agree that u may have to save the leaves for the interviews!

Best of Luck!
