Thats the GMAT pattern. Quite possible coz many univs, where students want to go in exchange programme, ask students to take GMAT now which was not the case earlier. Maybe, they have this perspective in mind

I think this time they will have five sections one each for DI,LR,VA,RC,QA. GK section is remote possibility. Further Ithink the level of questions will be reduced. I think HRD has influenced this because they want to bring down the level of paper as students enrolled in coaching institutes are in more advantageous position that who cannot afford it. The same happend to IIT JEE fe years back. I wonder what will be the cut off this time.

why do you forget written section.XL has 2.30 hrs exam. 2hrs for paper and 20 min for written section.
only pray that paper won't be like that from XAT-06.( yaar JEE mein is se jayade marks aa gaye the)

@warrioor- i guess DI is as important as quant.........

there is no way they can give only 2 section (quant and va), even if there is 2 section DI will be along with quant.

Gmat has very minimal DI. And Gmat is the world standard ( though personally I feel not a good one). to be global not only their curriculum but selection criteria should meet global norms. Also how much DI do you have in cat 05 as % of total paper

Chekcing the essay of over 1.5 lakhs people will be simply an arduous task. further essay evaluation will involve the subjectiveness of the person. Calls has to be on the basis of objective checking of cat paper IIMS won't take so much of trouble of going through each and every essay.. Yes they can keep the essay for GD PI stage.

I think they will add a different kind of section may be completely puzzles based

Hmm...so the excitement of the season has begun !!!

Its futile trying to guess the pattern etc. Its the time to just focus on the basics right now. Let the strategy and all take care of itself once the mocks get into full swing.
Getting anxious about the pattern is one thing. But trying to lose sleep over it and getting tensed is another.

Never ever forget that whatever be the pattern/toughness level, its the same for all. So don't get too perturbed about all this. Just concentrate on the basics of speed and accuracy and let things unfold gradually in due course of time.

Hoping lotsa PGs crack CAT big time this year as well......We all are always there to help out in any way we can !

Guys, went thru the entire thread, Didn't get any clues how the paper can be... and frankly I do not want to pressume th pattern, the sections... IIMs can throw another bouncer anytime...

i just heard that RC section might also be removed and it will be clear by Sunday. Somebody told me this came in ET?? is it true??
