Well, cutoffs are not so stringent .. I got a call from iimb with

10.67 in DI ( 89.xx percentile )
15.67 in maths ( 98.22 %le )
14 ( TIME key ) , 18.xx ( IMS Key ) in verbal ( 88.xx %le -- so probably its TIME Key )
---------------------
Total -- 97.11 %le .. I havent yet come across anybody in this yrs CAT who has got a call from IIMS at a lower percentile than mine . So u can more or less take my DI and verbal marks as the lower boundary

Strict cutoffs are followed by only A and C again with exceptions made especially for work ex folks...

For A the cutoff was >95% in all sections and >99% overall
There were few exceptions allowed which were not exactly explainable... But everyone who got the above got an A call for sure...

For C the cutoff was >90% in all sections and >99.1 (not sure if it was 99 or 99.1) For C there were the least exceptions and no one with any section less than 90 got a call...

L had lower sectional cutoffs and went lower than 99% overall too... not sure about exact number... also L is uniform about calls with not too many exceptions..

K gave almost everyone with 99% overall a call... People with one section lower than 80% too got the K call...

B was classic mixed and completely unpredictable...

No idea about I...

quite an interesting revelation... Is it impliable that for all practical purposes (assuming anyone who'll get an overall 99% will fetch at least 80% in all areas), the sectional cut-oofs don't matter for a top-notch institute like IIMK? And maybe there are others eg. MDI those must be having even lower thresholds?
So, assuming that one doesn't drastically screw up in an area, the sectional cut-offs don't play that big a role for calls, of course discounting IIMA and IIMC.

This time for NITIE, TAPMI, XIMB and all other relevant colleges too...2k5 was a year i guess when they concentrated more on sectional cut-offs than overall...

So wateva may be ur aggregate score...a safe score wud be one with a decent balance across all 3 sections...

I didnt apply for any other colleges than IIMs.. Had a call from IIMB, but finally this skewed percentile proved to be my nemesis. They put me in WL after interviews and promptly got kicked out.
