How about naming the thread a little more wisely

The current thread title is quite mysterious

the time factor is relative....it depends on your own ability as well as the number of hours u wud put in each day and add to it the regularity factor...

given 3 months - wud u not study and take ur exams if someone advises u that 3 months is not sufficient enough...

so, instead of wasting ur time here in posting junk better start ur preparation for Maths..

Guys thanks for response....I have changed the title.

Well I was definitely quite comfy with Maths when I left it.
I left it not bcoz I hated it but bcoz I was doing MBBS.

I have about 2 months where in I can put in about 5 hours a day and about <2 months wherein I can put 1-2 hours a day.

And now guys i am hopeful that somebody will 'finally' reply to my question

I am asking bcoz many guys say that minimum 6 months of prep is necessary

How much time required for preps is individual specific. Now, this I say after have experince couselling students for the same. Someone who could understand a concepts in seconds may take some time for the other. Also, your personal level of comfort in a certain area and otherwise elsewhere also depends on how much time!

Now, what I would suggest is, you get started with the basics. Solve easy level problems, get the fundaes right (Very important part, often neglected). And then move to tests, mocks level questions (which are generally the application of te concepts).

Also, would like to add that, feeling you are prepared and cracking CAT are 2 different things. Thats why we have many veterans on the forums, who did well in the Mocks, but coudnt bell CAT. So, ATB!

According to the latest Calculations by Prof Sleepy Von de-Blah
The complete Prep should take 4 months 35 days 86 hrs 94 mins 10 secs.

so there, figure it out

Nahin yaar, depends on you na, just focus on the basics, practice yr tables, squares and cubes, Assuming you are cosy and comfy wid the angrazi, and are to be capable of being able to try to be solving questions of the verbaal kinds, without two muches of takleef,
Methinks 3 months can be enough, dont let the amt of work needed swamp u,
It can be assured there are enough questions in any CAT paper that can be solved just by simple appl. of basics to clear any Cut-off.
You just need some practice to be able to find them

Prep time is of course relative. But for a person who starts from scratch, it will take minimum 4 months - 15 days to familiarise with the topics, sec cutoff funda, time mgmt, -ve marking et al and 3.5 moths to slog it out.

I am a non-engineer... who can be easily robbed in broad daylight by threatening me with numbers..
It took me three months to prepare for CAT.. and I seriously believe that three months of slogging shud be good enuf..
Then again, it varies from individual to individual..
The earlier the better.. don't think abt these much... just put in ut best, yaar

Best wishes,
Yogesh
