Now coming to the specifics ,

What is the average salary offered ?

Salary depends on your Work Ex. Interest, Perfromance, and the company you join as in Times Group Print , Times Internet Limited , Radio Mirchi, Times Now, Zoom, Times Business Solutions - Timesjobs.com etc...
However, a graduate from TSM enjoys a package higher than most people with perhaps a bt more of experience also in Media. Every Year the package is revised with the Market Realities and Current Levels in the company.


Who are the recruiters apart from the Times Group during placements ?

Campus placement is invited only from Bennett, Coleman Co Ltd. (BCCL) This however includes all the various companies under the banner i.e. Print, TV, Radio, Internet, Outdoors etc... Also, the placement is done across departments in the company ranging from Sales, Marketing, Stretegy, Private Treaties , Brand etc....


What is the course fee like ?

When i passed out it was Rs. 1.05 Lacs for the entire course which was actually returned to me as a scholarship when i topped the batch. Subsequently its been increased to Rs. 1.25 lacs. Current fees am not sure of. Will call up college tomrorow and post for your reference and ease.

I know this is not AICTE approved , but does it have any other recognition as such ?

What is the course content like ? Does it emphasise mainly on the Media , Ads , Product and Brand Management fields etc ( similar to MICA's flagship marketing and communications programme )

Average Salary would range 4 lacs p.a. upwards for a fresher. If you have work ex prior to the course it is usually taken into consideration while offerring the placements. If any experience is there in terms of NON-MEDIA sales or marketing it is also considered. The experience needs to be relevant to the position you are being hired for. Being a Non-Media experience is not an issue. Of course, the benefit would be larger in case of it being within media.

Primarily you can look at pure sales positions. Branding and Marketing would be a bit of an optimisim with your background. However, once you join in the group a lot of opportunities keep coming up as Times Group is one of the most vibrant and dynamic group which keeps launching new products.

Also, I am in to International Marketing from the last 8 months but what I don't understand is the Advertising part of the course it is something which I have tried before and failed miserably is there any option to select specfic topics which interests you ???

hiii naina...ths is rahul here...applied for da TSM-MUMBAI batch few days bck..however i dnt knw much abt this instituute..da most important question for me is abt da placements it offers..since times group has many competitors do u thnk such organsations wud encourage students passed out frm times into their org??? In case da students do not get his/her placemnt in times group itself, will ther b any sort of problems in finding the right job at a later time??
and how abt the entrance tests?? r ther any gud refernce buks tht u cud suggest for cracking the test...wht is the syllabus for this test?? is it similar to the CAT Entrace test??

Hi Neha,

I gave the entrance on the 30th and cleared it....its GMAT format...so more stress on the vocab...u have couple of short essays to write in the end...quant is considerably very easy(basic stuff)...please read up current issues coz lot of GK questions too...there is negative marking too so u better write the essays

All in all very easy to crack...so best of luck!
