hey guys,
In the CAT form it is mentioned that we have to give the final percentage of mks obtd in our graduation.So,can we give the marks in our final year only.
Say for Engg-where there are 4yrs the 4th year marks only counts-so,can i give only the 4th year.

Hey,

the % is the % on ur degree and in ur case it seems to be calculated on the basis of the % of final year marks...so put that on.

Soory but i have to disagree with you zeus. When you say final marks of graduation means the final average you've got after the 4th year - cos' if we go by the logic that only 4th year marks are required , then the marks of the other 3 years become redundant. I don't think they'll consider marks based on 4th year only.

i had called IIM-B office .i had to enquire about my diploma marks entry in the form they told we have to take the average of all the years ,so guess it holds for graduation also. i think better would be to call the admissions office

Now that varies b/w univs...for eg in my case the marks of the last 2 yrs are counted towards the 4 yr degree....in any case....this isnt the end of it all......if and when we get there for intv/gd....these issues can be sorted out.

i know quiet a few people who have quoted there degree marks and not the aggregate of all years/ semesters.........After all, there must be some reason why the univ guys consolidate the degree marks on the basis of last couple of sems.

The degree marks in some cases...mine included..... are calculated based on the performance in the last couple of semesters.

So mentioning the marks which form the basis of the degree seems logical to me.

here goes....

normally by the aggrgate of ur grad marks we mean the aggre of all years / semesters right?

now in some univs (I guess thats limited to some univs) the degree is awarded based on the performance in the last couple of semesters. so u could have a 70% aggre over all the years but still have a 75% on ur degree cos u might have done better in the last 2/3/4 sems that count towards degree marks in these univs.

so i thought that the "degree marks" are what matter and have mentioned the same..................in any case u have to produce all ur marks cards durin intv / gd stage..........am sure this wont be too much of an issue with em as long as u can explain the reason for quoting the marks u did.
