1) wht was the placement seen this year wht was the avg,median,highest salary offered
2) i have heard new campus in on making when will we able to get tht campus
3) how are the hostel and other facilities
4) wht makes lbsim unique and diffrent from others or to be specific why shlould i choose lbsim above others
5)wht are the average percentile of ur batch students?
6) ratio of workex /fresher,engg/non engg,male/female.
and plzz dont mind but its a trend not to publish numbers on public forum

Here first of all let me clarify that the Extempore of LBS is very different from that at FMS .That is my first hand experience what i get from the list of topics available.:satisfie:
Here the topic list is relatively simple ,the duration is 90 seconds.
Some of the topics were like Rose ,Folder, Ur city name,Belt,Colours,Ring which ur wearing, very general.I think they are basically checking ur ability to arrange your thoughts logically & importantly checkin your Communication skills.
And the whole process of GD/PI takes around 1 hour once it starts.

Its really nice for people who are so active to point out mistakes,thankz once again.
Now regarding ur querries
Our placement season officially starts from 2 Jan2006 but before that in December many of them were placed.If you people talk of the Salaries in all the MBA colleges the salaries are CTC(Cost to Compnay).
Bear with me in a week time we would come up with the figures about the salaries,because right now we have Britannia in our Campus, with a few more to follow.
Placement have been completed.Now it is open for all to sit in these companies.
The average percentile is about 93 excluding the people who are from Management quotaa.
In the Batch about 65% are Engineers then there is high composition of BCom as well.
Our new campus site is at Dwarka.That is a Cream location, also has close proximity to Airport.We'll have a full fledged Fully residential hostel,on campus.But i guess it has just started so it will take some time before completion.
Some of the things which differentiate us from others is firstly our Fee structure (lowest amonogst all),then we have aCorporate Interface day each week in which we go out to interact with the Corporates.Then our new Director is from IIML he has been instrumental in IIML's exceelent infra.We hope he will play a crucial role.
It is true that we do not have enough visibility but then we are known where it matters,in the Corporate World.Believe me we had similar doubts last year but then when you are in the sea then you realize the taste of water,so no issues with us now.

Hey er_anuragmidha i have already answered it all.Dont you worry about the Extempore part at least be confident just take a small object around you or your tie ,your age ,city ,anything which is attached to you and simple enough and try to recollect your thoughts on it for jus 90 seconds.THat is it.
My suggestion to you is that better focus on the GD part for which you could brush up your GS skills,Some of the topics were (last year) related to Economy,Politics,Sports & others.
Some of them could be on Sensex-10000 ,India-Iran issue,Sports,Reliance split.Well keep pouring the topics.But then you are smart enough

HI Sikandar this is Gaurav here.I have been a hosteller in the first year.Actually LBS does not have its own hostel,but it has entered into a contract with some hostels.As of now we have 1 hostel for boys & 2 for girls.At Muhammadpur we have a boys & a girls hostel.Another is in Munirka but only for girls.Both of them are hardly 10 minutes away from the Institute.

dis is asheesh also a 1st yearite at LBSIM,Delhi.... well i came across a piece of information dat the LBS thread has already hit the pages of PG forum and so cudnt resist myself from entering.... went thru all d posts.. lots of queries posted..and quite appropriately handled by Gaurav, Shivanshu, Chinu and Lbsrockers...

congratulations to all of you on getting GD/PI calls

hi sikander..well to answer ur query....what we wer told last year at d time of GD/PI.... CAT holds a weightage of 60-70% and the rest of the cake goes to GD/PI process and academics...as far as the questions during d intvw are concerned... u being a commerce student wud b asked for d basic concepts in ur course( i m an engg. so cannot say specifically which all topics)...and along wid that.. general awareness w.r.t the political,economical and business scenario prevailing currently... even the questons which hav an HR perspective could b askd....something which tests ur decision making in critical circumstances...like the one which was asked to me,"If we offer u a job as a professor in our institute after you graduate, which one wud u go for..the post of professor or the placement offer"....just a variety....or u they may try to pull ur leg over an issue...but u maintain ur calm and poise and answer unperturbed..the interview in our times was stretchng frm a mere 10 mins as in my case to 25-30 mins... and understand the duration is never an indication of their intentions...and to tell u frankly of all the institutes i visited for this process..i found LBSIM most comfortable during GD/PI...so no need to bother buddies

as far as d hostel is concerned..LBSIM has a contract wid a hostel for boys(mohammadpur) and another two for girls (mohammadpur and munirka)... the lunch is packed in tiffins and delivered in insti during lunch hrs...u hv a gud power and water supply in these hostels( myself being a hosteller) wen u see the outside conditions...

thanks asheesh sir..... so will we be calling u professor asheesh after an yr ?? lol. if they ask me that question.. i'll probaby say "sir if ur making me an offer kindly tell me the salary as well.". this remind me of a question... whats the reply to these questions "why should we NOT take you?" and "which is more important honesty or trust ?"
