I'm selecting Computer Networks and Software Engineering.

Although I've a work-ex of 14 months, I worked in a production Support project where we had to deal more into the functional aspects of the software.It was more of a "manage-people","manage-issues/deadlines" kinda job.What types of questions can I expect here ?

I published a couple of articles in Developer IQ ( "TCP/IP" and "Firewalls" ), .. I believe I'll be asked questions on Computer Networks.If so.. what are the general questions the panel asks on Networks ?
My final year engineering project was tiltled "automation of a Medical pharmacy system" ( used UML , coding done in PHP) basically SDLC... Can anyone tell me what type of questions do they ask in software engineering ?

am from comp engg background
qs that i was asked last yr-
IIMA : talked extensively abt my project - during my summer training and BTP and qs from there. asked how does a comp calculate values of sine and log functions.
IIMC: had a disc on logic - boolean, fuzzy, inductive, deductive (comp engg??) and what not. how does it work
IIML: asked on networking. how internet works, IP addressing, protocols etc.

they usually can ask anything. may seem abstract now but whatever u ans, based on that they ask another qs.
go thru the threads where ppl last yr shared thier int. experiences and u'll find lots of qs specific to that guys field. but none of the qs are likely to be repeated. they are jus for a vague idea. even if u cant ans certain qs stay confident.

given an oppurtunity u can talk abt ur job and direct the int. - how u've been managing ppl. ur learnings, y mba now and what u wish to learn. its now always the interviewer asking qs and u managing to ans them. the intr wants to know u and the more forthcomin u r , the easier 4 him.
they'll probably wanna know abt how u went abt capturin requirements for ur project and if u have a strong tech interest (published articles) then y mba

iam a final year BE(computers) student and was thinking of selecting some subject as my favourite. Which is the least risk area. I was thinking something like DBMS, or data structures , OS(except my general awareness of OS is zero)
any help?

ques of IIMA PI:

simple fundas bout V, I & R & their relationships

working of fluoro. tube & fan

working of fan regulator...

ques of IIML PI:

asked ques bout TD(asked me if i knew the laws of TD)

working of an AC

power transmission & distri....

moral of the story: prepare at least 2 subjects preferably machines & power...brush up the fundaas...

Ppl, dont forget Computer Networks. Even if you don't mention it they will ask you. Other favourite areas are data structures, CDMA GSM, Algorithms etc.
PS- Computer Networks is a must for engineers.

networks as a subject only comes for us in our last semester and we have just started with it. How much am I supposed to know.

You are supposed to know about internet,IP, network in your college, what is LAN, seven layers etc and simple devices like hub,router,switch etc. Don't need to go deep into protocols, scheduling etc. I'm saying this because it has been asked consistently.
