Any idea about non-Cutoff Good Colleges For CAT

You know very well who you are
Don't let em hold you down, reach for the stars
You had a goal, but not that many
'cause you're the only one I'll give you good and plenty"

yaar it varies from insti to insti.
But most of the second rated institutes don't have sectionals.

Still to be on safer side:
your strategy should be
1.just try to clear cut offs in quant.
2.give your best shot in VA
and who knows where you might land up

All colleges will look at your cutoffs. But, the IIMs will not be lenient. Most other colleges take in to consideration your overall score and as a scondary criterion see your cutoffs.

So, if you and another candidate tie for the last position, and your overall score is the same and all other things being equal, if your quant score is not clearing the cut off and his, he gets a seat and you et bumped in to the waiting list. However even though such perfect conditions almost never occur, do yourself a favour and dont flunk any section.

I got into MDI and I didn't do much in RC. But I solved every question in Maths and must've got many right.

Following were the shortlisting criterion used by various CAT based colleges last year for getting a GD/PI call.

1.IIM Ahmedabad

2.IIM Bangalore

3.IIM Calcutta

4.IIM Lucknow

5.IIM Kozhikode

6.IIM Indore

7.IIM Shillong

NITIE 98.37 overall with sectionals around 80

MDI PGPM 97.99 overall with 80 sectionals

SPJAIN Profile based...although everyone needs to score at least 85 percentile in CAT

IMT-G 96 overall

IMI 95 overall with sectionals 50

Hope this helps....

as said many time before in this forum.. i shall again suggest that don't rush about filling the forms of colleges. specially not when you are not sure about your percentiles..
if you fill up random colleges.. that will be utter waste of money.
you will be at loss if you get more percentile than expected or also if you get less than expected. suppose if you get more than what you did expect then you wud not like to go for the lower ranked colleges of which you have filled the form and if you get less than expected then the colleges of which you have filled the form won't call you.. so its loss both ways.
so wait for the CAT to happen and then go for the forms.
hope that i explained what i tried to.
as for the work-ex.. no college would give credits for work-ex in BPO.

Hi..
the actual thing is that no college ever reveals that what kind of work-ex do they consider and what they don't. they also don't tell that which position in you work cud fetch what weightage.. hence the entire scenario is very hazy.
but the general perception is that BPO work is not considered.
but fill up your work-ex in the forms.. that won't hurt in any way.

well
the clg has been in the teaching business for long,ie since 1953; n so the placement was reasonably good understanding the situation of the market... the time-built and stable alumni network paved way for healthy placement last year for the 2009 batch

for our batch the %ile cutoff to get a call was 82 %ile with 40 %ile in sectionals...but for our seniros , it was 85 %ile and above... so anything above 85%ile will surely fetch u a call as they wont raise the cutoff's drastically

from our batch onwards Operation sepcialization is also added along with marketing, finance and HR
