Mumbai Marathon!!! - 16-01-2006, 10:45 PM

Hiii...Participated in Mumbai Marathon Dream Run! I was just awestruck with the number of people participating! Ofcourse I had seen it on TV the same event in d previous year..but being there in person was a whole diff experience! 6 of us from Northpoint participated in d dream run..

in d morning when i was travelling by train to churchgate lots of ppl were in their sports wear..all set for d marathon..the distance from churchgate to express towers (Lintas Office) where i have to pass from Marine drive was full with Mumbaites on d road..there was some promotion happening for Kasam Se serial..Jet Airways was with a dummy plane..On d whole at 8 in d morning there was sooooo much excitement..

I cdnt cross the road for a while coz there was a race going on..pleaded those cops so that i cd just cross d road..finally all Lintas ppl met at Churchgate station again and we started are walk till V.T ..this is d place where the marathon started..and there were innumerous ppl walking in their corporate t-shirts..

We reached the ground and saw all corporates huddled in their groups..their banners, baloons and props in the air.. Then all of a sudden i found myself out ..the race had begun..at first could take only mini steps coz there were so many ppl getting out of the first lane..for me it was more like dream WALK rather than dream RUN..

anyways..One of the most amazing thing i found was really old people were so energetic till the very end..Also, the enthusiastic spirit of corporates..I think Price Waterhouse Coopers ppl were extremely vibrant ..One could see Levers running everywhere..the sheer number of participants was so high..it was impossible to miss them..

I have to mention about all the people who were on the road to cheer people..I was tired by the time i completed half the run ..but those strangers were encouraging the participants so much..they GENUINELY wanted us to run ..I felt one with Mumbaikars at that very point of time (at the marine drive..pizzeria strech!)

From advertising point of view I think this event is such a great self financing promotion tool..

Anyways bye 4 now
Regards

Angry Northpoint to no point - 24-06-2008, 09:48 AM

Hi

I am an applicant for Northpoint 2008.
Recently after going through a rigorous workshop at Lintas Mumbai, I among 6 others were informed that we were selected for the PPABC program for 2008.
Needless to say I dropped all my other options to pursue the course which was to start in July. But at the nth moment I was informed through a damned email that the course was shelved for this year by Mr Sumit Roy because he could not find enough students to pursue the same.
Firstly I am highly disappointed in the unprofessional manner they decided to shut down the college for one year without any concern for the students involved and secondly for how clueless for seem to be for the future.
So let this be a warning and a lesson to all the students who apply for the course henceforth to keep all your options open and not trust the college.
