thanks tp for taking initiative, i would like to know, how u manage to solve lots of questions accurately. (i would be more then happy if you cld share how u begin when u get paper.. u give 2-3 min skimming each section.. something like that, ). till i started with TIME AIMCATS i thought DI/DS was my forte. i got 98.6 percentile in CAT DI last time. but with time AIMCAT DI i crossed double digit figue only in around 50 % of their tests. it shakes my faith in my capacities. i hope your approach might give some enlightenment to improve attempts along with accuracy

Somehow I feel attempting more than 20-25 questions from the DI section is near impossible... tp and company How in the hell do you manage it... I have got reasonable accuracy in everything except DS... But TIME DS is out of this world for a 40 minute section with 50 questions... Unless a DS is worth 2 marks it may not be worth attempting for folks like me... Because DS is designed for us to make errors due to shortage of time...

My natural aptitude is actually pretty good for both DI and QA and I need a prep boost to get back in shape...

Suggest me some of the books you refer to for both DI and QA... I have entire IMS 2004 material only and previous CAT questions Oswal....

And I think i have lots of time for prep this Nov... Hopefully I will keep the computer off more often too...

Re: the di/lr guide ( general queries welcome) - 30-10-2005, 05:56 PM

This is an ideal thread for me.

DI - I am not able to get more than 15-16 attempts. With around 4-5 wrong, my score dips to single digit figure. My CAT '04 DI %ile was 97 odd.

DS - DS questions are a gamble. If you understand what is asked quickly, you can save a lot of time. But the problem is HOW TO UNDERSTAND and ASSIMILATE QUICKLY.

Quant - my old favourite. The story is same as that in DI. Speed is lacking. (alongwith accuracy).

Too many problems, too less of time to correct ??!!! Please Help....

I think DS is the most scoring... IF you know how to judiciously leave hard questions...
LR is generally easy too, but the easy LR is usually a stand alone question!
