Re: Queries IMT-Ghz 2006 -

I have a few queries regarding the application.
I had filled up the online form and saved it without accepting the conditions and had logged out. The next time i logged in, all my details were missing. Does this mean that my application has already been processed. Or can i update it again under the same userid? Secondly, is it mandatory to give references? Is this only for work ex people? What kinda references?
also, in the course priority drop down boxes, do i have to give three different courses? or can i just write one course for all three priorities?

Here I am... -

Hello guys...
Iam really sorry to have kept you guys waiting for your doubts to be cleared..
Right now Iam on a vacation and so not really online..
Anyways.. i'll just answer a few of your queries and the rest i'll take care of when iam back ( 7th november).
For people having problems updating the form, you need to create a new Id and then update it.. doesnt matter how many Ids you create.. they will be filtered and only the complete form will be accepted.
As for the cut offs, there were no sectional cutt-offs in any course and the cutt offs were 96 for PGDBM and 93 for HR.
The batch size for HR is 30 and is likely to remain the same next year too.
As for the choices, you are supposed to give three diferent preferences. later ,its your call to answer or not answer the invitation for the process.
About references: references should comprise of people you are not related to. Your friends, teachers co-workers, bossess, subordinates etc will do. They have nothing much to do with your selection process though but try n put genuine and credible names.
I'll answer the rest when iam back...
All the best ppl!

- Who think they make things happen,
- Who watch things happen,
- Who wonder what happened,
- Who dont know if anything happened!

1) I am a qualified Company Secretary (CS), the syllabus of which, among other things, has a lot to do with Labour Laws (which I believe are an imp part of the HR syllabus). Would I get some extra weightage/marks for that while giving calls, or would that count only at the GD/PI stage, or not at all ? --DEFINATELY IT WILL COUNT DUDE, BUT AGAIN U NEVER KNOW AT WHAT STAGE A B-SCHOOL WILL LOOK INTO THAT CREDENTIAL OF YOURS, SURE SHOT Q'S IN INTEVIEW IS ALL THAT CAN BE SAID
2) Is the GD/PI process for the HR course different from normal ? If yes, in what manner, and with what purpose is that done ?--THE PROCESS IS SAME, HOWEVER GD/PI FOR DIFFERENT COURSES ARE CONDUCTED ON DIFFEREN DATES, LAST YEAR PGDBM INTERVIEWS WERE THE 1ST TO B CONDUCTED
3) What's the current & proposed batch size ?-- THE CURRENT BATCH SIZE U GUYS ALREADY KNOW BY NOW N 4 PROPOSED BATCH SIZE V CAN NOT COMMENT( INFACT NO ONE CAN)
4) No. / percentage of experienced people ? Average age ?-- OUR BATCH HAS MANY EXPERIENCED INDI WHO HAVE XPERIENCE RANGING FROM 1-5 YEARS..ALSO THERE R DOCTORS N CA'S AROUND....LONEWOLF CAN GET U THE EXACT %AGE DISTRIBUTION--JUST ONE THING IMT WILL GO 4 HAVING A DIVERSIFIED BATCH PROFILE---INFACT ITS GR8 TO STUDY WITH ECO HONS, ENGG, DOCS, CA'S---ALL BRING A DIFFERENT INSIGHT.
5) Is there a bias towards the female gender, as is the case in most of the HR courses/colleges ? I DONT THINK SO..N WHO SAID HR IS THE BASTION OF DISTAFFIAN SIDE OF OUR COMMUNITY.
6) Cut-Offs for last year ? Sectional cut-offs if any ? U ALREADY KNOW THAT---MY BREAKUP WAS QUANT-97, ENG-97.XX, DI/DS-86.XX OVER ALL - 97
7) Last but not d least, is there any difference in the fee structure ?
a few doubts abt d application form
1)where & how do i depict my CS qualification.can i show it in column 20( post-graduate degree), under `others' ?
2) what is d purpose of asking references ? can it be a professor/teacher or it has to be a corporate person ? --AGAIN THAT IS CLASSIFIED INFORMATION WHICH WE DONT HAVE ACESS TO..BUT AS THERE IS A CLOUMN IT SURE MUST BE SOLVING SOME PURPOSE--I GAV THE REFERENCE OF MY PROJECT GUIDE IN UG N THE HOD AT MY COLLEGE.
Thanks in advance.----ITS OK..ANY OTHER QUERY JUST SHOOT---ASHISH

any IMT ians out there,
On October 6, I had send a dd to IMT G via post.I am still waiting for the application form.
I mailed Mr.Sherry admissions coordinator 2 days back without any reply so far. When the adm notification clearly says that one can procure the app form via post, I dont understand this delay.
Can someone clarify or send the phone nos of the admissions office.
With all other instis replying promptly, imt seems strangely aloof with my 1550 Rs in their pocket.maybe they need reminding that the deadline is nov 21.

hi imtatg,
im giving u Dr Sherry's no. call him up and find out why ur form has not reached. Possibly there has been a postal delay. Also, what happens sometimes is that forms are sent out in batches, so maybe the admin is waiting for applications to reach a critical mass before sending out the next lot. Im just conjecturing, call him n find out.

last year the cutoffs for the mib course were 94%+
as the number of students which would apply is expected to increase due to our good going summer and expected good finals, this is expected to increase
rahul
mib first year
