How's the CAT prep going? Everyone is doing well I trust, and trying harder to increase their scores.

I'm starting this thread for any queries you might have about MDI.

The admissions for the PGPM and PGP-HR batches for 2006 are open and CAT scores will be taken.

Good that some1 frm MDI itself has taken the initiative to start a thread on this topic...

Since theres still some time 2 go, I alongwith many others r biding their time...Wld do the needful by sometime in Mid Oct n then shall post doubts if any...Filhaal, every1 is possibly busy with their SIM/MOCK CAT preps, tryin to up the score as much as poss...

I hv a query. Are there going to be online registerations coz the webpage clearly says so but there is no link on the webpage for registeration. Its still showing last year's link. Please confirm.

Any idea about the cutoffs last year??

As per Instructions for filling MDI form, we have to use BLACK/BLUE ballpen to fill in the boxes.
Does this apply for darkening the circles as well...?...
B'cos I think there is no specific instruction that says that you have to darken the circles with HB pencils....
This may sound silly but just wanted to confirm....

I think the circles should be filled in using HB pencil only...still you can call up the admissions office at +91 124 2349831-36, 5013050-59 to confirm. I'll also try and find out....

Last year, the cutoffs for the PGPM course was 97%ile overall and 90%ile in quant and DI. The cutoff for the PGP-HR course was around 92%ile.

Expect the cutoffs to increase by one or two percentage points this year, as they did last year. Last year the cutoff for the PGPM course was 95%ile. Since it was the first year for the HR course, there were calls at lower percentiles also.

The rise in cutoffs can be attriubuted to the increasing number of candidates appearing for CAT each year, in addition to the increasing stature of the institute. Since the number of seats (and calls) for the top B-Schools remains almost the same each year, one has to get a higher percentile to be in the top 1500 or whatever each passing year.

I don't have much idea as of now about the online process, but yes, online applications should be there. Most people applied offline last year though. Still, I'll check with the concerned people and let you know.

hi

better use black/blue pen for darkening the circles as well, since this form will be with the Instiute till the time of the Interviews and will be used then....pen ink should be able to stand the test of time
