a candidate will do well if he has good speed and also identifies the right questions atleast in the QA section. i acknowledge the fact that the DI section was easy but this again can be a pothole for a lot of students who will actually end up not clearing the sectional cut off in QA coz the tendency of maximising ur score in this section will lure a lot of ppl in attempting it more than required. the entire VA section was pretty balanced with the parajumbles having slightly close options which definitely posed some prob. RCs were also confusing n highly inferential in nature n specially that drama extract which was a surprise in terms of representation. overall DI section was the one which will shoot the scores of the toppers to astronomical level but for genuine mid segment takers like me i guess its time not only to increase ur scores but also seek a much needed sectional balance coz ultimately its the competence in all the sections which guarentees a call n not jus mastering the easy section.

no rewards for scoring 30+ in DI if u score less than 8 in QA or less than 18 in VA

that is wat i think though i welcome the suggestions of other pagals on this

specially ppl who are scoring in 60s shud kindly throw some ilight on how to increase speed n the number of attempts

the cut offs shud be VA- 18-20,DI-20-22,QA-9-11 overall- 55-58

i missed out on DI this time coz i was exercising a lot of caution in clearing all the cut offs in all the previous mocks i dint clear the QA cut off but in this test i am optimistic abt it , i understand the DI score is weak link this time but the GAINS from MOCK4 are

improved accuracy, better sectional balance, bright chances for coming MOCKS

yes ronny... i tottaly agree wid u... even though i got a very low nett of about 49... my scoring was even in all three sections n for a change had double figures in quant...... but the most dissapointing aspect was...... my eng scores have taken a beating.. got only 21.... more dissapointed with my accuracy...... but a word of caution..... scoring evenly in all 3 sections is ok.......but once CL puts up the scores by wednesday...... u'll see a no, of jerks getting a 75+...... ......so till then keep guessing the cut offs....

PS: Q44) I think the correction is wrong..answer should be (4) as it can't be determined..the actress with minimum no. of films with shahrukh will be lying in the others category..and it might be entirely possible that one of those actresses has done 1 or 2 films with shahrukh which will constitute the minimum..had the choices didn't have the 'cannot be determined' option then the answer would be (1)..but not here..ne suggestions will be welcome..

Exactly. And I couldnt agree with the rest of DI/DS errata either. Q 17 should be (2) and not (1) since it does not say Mg and P ions put together. Can someone explain the logic behind Q78 too?
Q99 should be corrected to (2). They have solved it correctly in the solutions, but somehow mentioned the wrong option.
Also, I have some serious issues with Passage VI, the play. I thought the extract was about something deep - Is all that is being discussed by these people abt the process of taking off boots???? To me it was a satire about not loosing hope against the mighty universe. Does everyone feel it was a Tragi-Comedy????

Overall a HUGE screwup!!! I hope all that DI errata is erroneous, otherwise I am stuck at 56. What the hell, I ain't clearing the VA cutoff anyways !!!

Yep I too felt the same way... Tragi-Comedy dosen't really fit here.

Anyways, getting around 53, VA and quant need to be worked on.

hmm okayish sort of paper....have to agree that in this paper attempts shud have been arnd 85ish..i must wrk on the attempts myself coz they still range in the region of abt 65-70 for 123 q paper and abt 70-75q for 150q paper..must increase by atleast 10 more attempts..
english section was pretty challenging..di was a cakewalk although dnt really think its gonna be so simple at cat..qa hmm..attempts took a real beating here..there less sitters to choose frm in this paper..overall i think aprt frm the di section it was quite ok..

Guess I might come up short in quants...again,...but I cant really complain, after a couple of intelligent guesses (read flukes) worked out fine for me

Oh yes, with just one 'philosophical' choice and three other more pragmatic ones, I was mighty tempted to go for the 'man vs universe' theme, just in case I had missed out on some profound thought :smile: , but seriously, where was the universe in the passage?...just a couple of frustrated dudes taking it out on each other.
Take the passage at face value and its nothing but a tragi-comedy about taking off boots. But sure, you could always find deeper meanings if you want to. Infact, you can get any kind of meaning out of any passage if you put your 'mind' to it :smile:
And that's what's so tragi-comical about RCs in general, aint it?

Here is a poor soul, who either doesn't know how to do it or is really bad at quant and English.

With an overall 70% accuracy, I am doomed to a classic failure. Or do I not have it in me? Guys, I am seriously thinking aborting my attempt at CAT and take the onsite opportunity. That way I can at least earn some dollars.
If someone thinks I stand a chance, please do let me know. I am desperately preparing for this damned exam since April and still I am getting such stupid scores.

A decent performance in a real-time mock after a long time.......

VA --> 42/31/11 = 27.33
QA --> 17/11/6 = 9.00
DI --> 31/25/6 = 23.00

Overall --> 90/67/23 = 59.33

Needless to say QA is the only blot on an otherwise decent scorecard. The mock was definitely on the easier side, especially DI. I see nothing wrong in my attempts but I have to get my accuracy to 80+, currently languishing at 75% on an average.

PS: No idea why I chose that conversation wallah passage. Got only 1 right in that, any other passage wud have got me another 2-3 marks taking my VA score to 30+ which would have been satisfactory.

Havent yet considered the key changes, score may vary by +/-2 after considering those.
