A guy (SC/ST) at my coaching institute had a call from IIM A for the ABM program at 78%ile in CAT 2006.

yaar the % for ST is very low even lower then SC candidates.i hve known people gettin as low as 60% gettin calls .yaar some people hve all the luck.yahan toh 89 xat mein laaney par bhi kuch nahin hai bhai.thanks to V.P.SINGH.:(

well i m from a reserved category(ph) with a percentile above 98.5.i had my iima & iimc interview which didnt go too well .the panelists seemed to be least interested.what can i make out of it?can good cat score and decent gd bail me out?puys and seniors pl reply

Being in reserved Category (even Phy. Handicapped students) and converting calls is not that easy. You might get calls with unbelievably low CAT scores but when you go for GDs (you will be grouped with general cat. students) and in inteviews they wont even know you are from reserved category.

This year NITIE filled only 3 students in PH category (AFAIK no seats for hearing PH students) when they ought to fill in atleast 5-6 seats. So if you get really low scores, you might get calls but it's not easy to convert.


Never give up. Even a dead clock shows correct time for two times a day.

Can anyone tell me what weightage does percentile has in the entire selection process... I have a pretty decent %ile but have not done very well in the interviews..

According to CF director, CAT score has roughly 70% weightage !!!

I doubt it's that high though.

Same thoughts here too. I have only an IIM K call with 99.77 %ile.....from the general category.
