hi bonzibuddy,

now i dont know where you guys want to take this discussion..

only thing coming out of this discussion is that some of you from IIMC have systematically planned for this media blitz of yours (very obvious that your 2nd post at pg is so well thought of, analyzed and targeted. The same applies for your other mates)...

as a pg member all i can say is that you have chosen a wrong section...we are the only ones reading and replying here...Now we really dont want to go on prooving points that in my humble opinion are pointless. The least we can do of our education is to learn a bit about being humble.

GAP,IMC,ML- wow..its great you guys have it all...better they come to you than not coming to India at all..point taken...but guys please grow up!

I am happy to have made my decision when i needed to. There are many ifs and buts in life and me not taking IIMC when i had the chance least bothers me....im sure it would be the same for your guys who chucked B for C...

There is nothing much to add here anyways, all of us coming out of IIM's,i believe have enough knowledge and skills to understand that on our day we can crack anything.

Good that "selected" few of you from IIMC got that chance in 2004...i will get mine when i am ready for it.

We have our share of "distinct" companies to be proud of..we need not have the whole world to feel happy of our achievements...and companies are matter of time...you guys know that as well as we do.

As i said, finally it boils down to you to make the cut or not. Being in the correct IIM is not good enough. Learning correct things are. I at IIMB am happy to see the way things have gone for me. But that does not mean it will be the same for everyone who comes to B.

I will be ready when the time comes for me.That does make B the best for me but obviously I cant put the same blanket statement for everyone.

and abt about your commonsensicle question :

""And is it just the profiles that matters?/ Do you think that all gr8 profile ppl get placed in slot 0. Doesnt the no of companies/desks also matters?? Common Sense??""

lets be fair again and use some common sense :

do you want new entrants to believe even for a second that profiles are not the most important thing? that being from an IIT/BITS/Stephens/Xaviers doesnt matter?

we have ALMOST 90% IIT/BITS/Stephens/Xaviers/CA's in day 0 summers and check your figures it would be almost the same for you too...trust me your batch is bigger and has the same mix as us...your quoted "extra" companies helps you place these additional profiles...you guys are "quant oriented" i dont need to explain to you that at both the places the probablities would turn out to be comparable.

and frankly at B well most of the grt profiles (few exceptions are always there) DO get Day0 Summers...i hope to god its the same with you too...it really doesnt auger well if this is not the case.

All i can conclude from your good summers is that your PR's are working as hard as us. It is a really good thing for you guys but please dont even try to take away our hardwork by making such frivolous posts.

I think im done for the moment...will go and do some meaningful extracurrics now...i hope you do not have any "pagalguy publicity group" at IIMC working here...from the looks of it it does seem so!!

hey rinku,

Frankly i dont know why IIMB's name wasnt there....

But then everyone makes such mistakes...you have to learn to live with it.

If you go by these journalists they would almost sell IIMs over Wharton and likes but we

know the reality here

sincere piece of advice dont get too disillusioned by all this IIM thing

It would be a lot better if you concentrate on your interviews now.

All the best,

Mohit

Regarding the slot 0 and gr8 profile. Yes its true that the profile matters a lot, but do you wanna say there are just 43 gr8 profile people? I am sure there would be more so that if more slot 0 companies would have been there, that would have ment more placements in slot 0. Take for example 54 offers at IIM C. They are all gr8 profile people. SO does it means that offers would have remained 54 had 3-4 less comapnies came in slot 0?? after all, as per you, they had great profiles. No sir, I wont say the situation in supply constrained, rather demand constrained

Regarding the term "pagalguy publicity group", if you would only look at the no. of posts and their lenghts in this thread itself between B ppl and C ppl, you would know where the name should have been aimed.... it should be to B ppl.

Yo bonzi buddy
What is publicity ?

1. Students of an institute posting crap about another one in the hope that some IIM hopefuls will actually fall for their lies and stunts ?

2. Students of an institute refuting such lies and giving the IIM hopefuls the truth.

If you have any of the "common sense" you were reffering to in your earlier post, itll be easy to figure out the truth. Come on dude, you cracked CAT, now use that logical reasoning that helped you crack it.

Nikhil

hi bonzibuddy,

if you take a look at our pagalguy history(me and nikhil) which incidentally is very easy to check- i doubt if you can even navigate your way through this place yet- you would know that we have spent hours on this site pre and post IIMB...and what we post here is just a farction of our total posts on this forum (if you believe refuting your arbit claims as our sense of gaining publicity) so please....

and for god sake how many times you want me to reiterate that its good that you guys had a rocking summers- 53 day0 (slot 0) offers - wow! (i mean it)

if this publicity blitz of yours has found the target (looking at the number of views i dont think so) can we stop this discussion here?

Like i said we here believe in some creative effort rather than trying to pull someone else down...we realise that this approach will not take us anywhere - channel your energy on better stuff yaar...no value addition happening here really.

MS, thnaks for acknoledging no. of offers. Had to say it again because you yourself kept repeating that no of companie doesnot matters.
Agreed, no value addition here, So me too wil stop here

1. General Atlantic Partner(GAP) visisted only IIM C

2. IFC (World Bank) only at IIM C

3. Gratmore Hedge Funds also visited only at IIM C

In I Banking:

4. ING Invetment Banking - NY, visited IIM C only

5. Lehmann: NY, London, Tokyo and HK all visit C and A, while in B London Does not goes. ALso NY visited B for the first time and that too through Video COnfrencing.

6.Merill Lynch : Treated as equal to GS, It visited C & A and not B

7. JP Morgan: Both London and HK visit C & A while only London went to B.

8. GS visited B & A and not C

9. DPWN visited only B

The point is that beyond Slot1, where in mostly indian companies come not much of differemce exist asand for Indian companies A, B & C are as big as it can get. It's for international companies that the difference lies.

Inbringing new companies to the campus the most that matters, and I hope ppl wud agrre, is the alumni strength. IIM A & C have a clear start in this respect of 17yrs over B, same way as B has over L and L has over K & I. Its the alumni who drives the recruitment.

Its irrelevent to say that the people or better in one place and not at other. Yes the institute wise culture/trends does makes a difference.

What the hell is wrong with u man ??????
I was reffering to nemesis's post saying that

1. Lehman HK does not come
2. Barclay's London does not come
3. HSBC India does not come
etc etc

Geez..... grow up dude. Dont think that every line is directed at you. Yes I did start my post addressing you, but I thought u had the "commonsense" to figure out that the part about lies being posted reffered to nemesis's post.
Well I dont know about your acedemic requirements, but I have to go mug for my exams. You see, some of us have a Grade focus. So this is where I take leave of this pointless discussion.
Wishing all of u IIM hopefuls all the best for your interviews. Hope to see many of u make it to the IIMs next year.

Take care
Nikhil
