well i think u need to write your full name i.e. as it is in your passport...

hi all,i am 2005 passed out engineer..we are given 2 grades in my colleg one is the cumulatinve that is c.g.p.a which is plain avg of all the semesters other is d.g.p.a which is some formula based calculation now although my marksheets mention the c.g.p.a the degree certificate mention my d.g.p.a what shud i write in the cat form..noting that both the marks differ by .04..cgpa is 6.86 dgpa i s 6.91

well we have 2 semesters in a yr so have 2 post both the marksheet or jus the recent one only!!!!

plus i have heard that we have to submit some form or something else which has 2 be signed by the college principal.

cud u plz tell us whats dgpa??? nevr heard of tht...v usually have CGPA(Cumilative Grade Point Average) and SGPA(Semester GPA)....and the formula is same for both...

Well...Well...Typical SouthIndian Problem...

In my case, my name as in my 10th and 10+2 records is " S.V. Venkata Vamsi Krishna"

and in the passport i had to expand it to "Sri Vangipuram Venkata Vamsi Krishna"

But in the CAT form last year there was place enugh to mention only " S.V.V.Vamsi Krishna"


I personally feel it doesnt matter if u dont expand your name as long as u remain the same person

we can ask our college to provide us with a bonafide certificate stating that we
are in our last year.

well.. could not elude myself from answering the questions above..

just read in the CAT bulletin that u have to attach a certificate which proves that u r in your final year/semester n for htat u have to ask ur college or university to issue one for you.. well its actually a "bona-fide" certificate. graduates can attach thre provisional certis.. n yes, certainly xerox.. not the original ones..

well about CGPA n DGPA, no idea, since i m not an engg. but u ppl can ask ur seniors.. they must have also faced the same situation, but as far as my knowledge allows me to think, u have to write ur CGPA.

n yes, auspicious date...u tell me ur name..i will work out a good date for u.. i know numerology n i m not joking, bt instead of believing in this things, concentrate on ur preps n believe in yourself.. if u hv confidence n good preps on ur side, every day is auspicious...

Lotsa queries here...In case any hav already been answered, feel free to ignore them....
1. I'm A S Shivram and this is how my name's spelt in my Xth, XIIth and my engg...But now in IIMA i'm Shivram Shri Ayyagari....So not much of an issue there...Write your full name..
2. No problem with the depositors sign...Cud b anybody....
3. If the address on the payment slip is ur home address, let the admit card go there as you mite hav ur sem breaks or sumthin wen u get it...That's d safest option cos even for the calls stage later, u mite switch locations and it becomes a problem if u've given ur coll address...
4. For the CGPA, DGPA issue, think you should write whichever one u feel like, n then in the space given for elaboration of CGPA systems, you could mention both...
5. Final year proof (engg): Think the marks card of the last em (i think it'll be sixth) will do....Don't hav to send both for the year...But i can't be sure abt this cos we didn't have anything like this...

besides the answers given by you are nothing new.. infact, they are quiet vague.. everytime u r writing- may be, not sure, could be... so wen u r not sure of ur answers, u shud nt tell ppl to ignore the earlier posts...
