I am a CA & workin wid BIG4 firm ... . I plan to have a career in Corp Fin.
During this one yr period..i realised tht i was inclined 2 derivatives....( basiscs was already dere in CA final..so i am aware of options ,future , B&S models etc.... even though not in gr88 detail),. I singled out a future plan for me ..i.e. 2 do Financial engineering.. i guess u must be aware that it does require prior knowldege of ecnometrics/statistics/calculas etc... being a CA i am quite distant from statistcs & stuff... & accordingly i am workin on it. i also figured out d colleges in US & other countries where i can do d course....
now d problem , currently i have an offer in hand for corp fin..& i guess it would take 3 yrs 2 b in good managerial position. i.e. i am 27 now..so i guess i will b 30 by thn... now wht shld i go for ?????
further complexities.... i spoke abt dis 2 my frnds & thy asked me 2 pursue CFA (AIMR from US) i.e. 3 yrs correspondence and forget abt tht course...another option thy said is tht i could give
CAt & alll this is covered in dere...
if anythin remained...thn i thought i could take d offer , go for d 3 yrs CFA course & thn after that complete my Fin.Engineering course (1yr) in US.... now i guess tht would make me 2 old..wht say ???
so wht shld i do ??
option:::
1. go for d job , pursue CFA ...& thn 1 yr Fin Engg
2.Continue wid d current job ..give Current yr or nxt yr
CAT ..& crack into some good college
3.continue wid d job , pursue MBA...as it would lead me there in Corp Fin
Interestin 2 note tht doing Fin engg wid CFA would be quite diff from MBA as it would be MS in Fin Engg ..whereas MBA students have more holistic approach... goin for CFA & Fin Engg would help me specialise in a niche field not explored by many in India...but specialisation is one side of d coin & another is "monotonous"....
wht say.... all & everyone r invited 2 give me some gyan on it...
