Personal/Career/CAT-job Dilemma Queries : A Repository -
23-06-2005, 12:04 PM
Hi All,
I have observed that lots of threads get started with topics like "help me" ,"please advise" etc etc and clutter up the forum.
So i thought why not put up a thread where PGites can post their queries about their career and CAT dilemmas, advise and et al.
For starters,i have identified lots of threads like it.Am pasting the links here,it will be great if Mods can merge these threads with this one and let this thread act as an repository.
So guys post your queries and I am sure one or other senior PGites will respond.
Some of the links are:
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8206 (To be or not to be,help me guys...)
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/showth...ighlight=query (double MBA?)
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9649 (suggest me)
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9649 (suggest me)
Will add more links as and when i find.
Just one request, please do not put your queries on information about any B-School here or any particular institute.
Rohit

Nice effort , but dont you think this will be a BIG task. I believe that the search facilty is pretty decent. Else if any one wants better search they can always use Google or Yahoo to search Pagalguy.com .
I guess PG.com can have more sections where all these help me type topics can be posted, like how the career section has been started.

@Jugnoo - The main reason is people do not use search tool on PG before posting their queries and that results in mayhem and ultimately they do not get proper replies.Thats why i created this thread so that people can go through it and i guess 95% of the queries can be solved if we make this thread a good repository.
@doofus3 - actually i made a document on "how to use search tool on PG.com" with screen shots etc but cannot upload it because of the size.If mods permit me,its ready to be uploaded.

LOL....Did you actually make an attempt @ this before complaining....Check out the PG trivia thread and you would be surprised at the kind of search results that people are able to come up with...Rest assured, the search functionality functions perfectly....Mebbe you could try giving the advanced search a try @ http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/search.php ...You could select the forums to be searched there..and the dates..and the user....and.....
Cheers

Hi Lisa,
Firstly, find out why you are not getting jobs. Am sure, no jobs for freshers may not be the only case.
Be ready to move to cities like Pune/Bangalore for few months if you are really desperate for a job. Go to several of job portals and apply. Make sure your CV is able to build confidence in the mind of the recruiter, in spite of you being a fresher.
Get in touch with your seniors, who are already in jobs. Ask for references, ask them to forward your CV to HR's in their company.
Prepare yourself for the interview. Give mock interviews in front of your friends/brother/sister/boyfriend etc etc.Take their feedback
Also, make sure first, what you wanna do in life The answer to this will give you a better chance at cracking a job !
Best of Luck.
Cheers,
Rohit
