Hi Lisa,
As Rohit has rightly pointed out, first find out why u r not able to get a job,as u say maybe ur approach is wrong,or maybe its just that ur right time is yet to come, please do a bit of self introspection...and come out with reasons for this wait...there can be many reason to that..and which only u can find out...anthr thing that i would suggest for you to do if thngs donn go right for you and u just want to have anthr option in hand,u can try ur hand with C-dac,it offers six month diploma courses in embedded,s.w and many other trades, and also has gr8 record of placements, not a 100% though...but then it all depends on situation to situation..My word for u will be Selfintrospection.
Thanks

Lisa,
There are a lot of jobs out there. Its only when people become choosy (about profiles, money, etc) that they find it difficult to find one.
I know some people, who being freshers, have been able to line up quite a few interviews. All you need to do is join some portals on the net and put up your resume. Then go for placement agencies for some localised flavour.
As to areas which are more inclined for HR there are many openings.
Lisa - all you need to do is search!
Cheers and Good Luck.

Lisa,
there are plenty of opportunities in every sector, and you need to go looking for it.
now that you have decided you wld work in the PRO sector, try to find the companies that u would want to see yourself working in. kind of like dream companies. read a lot about them, get to know their work styles and see what are the possible openings and apply for the same.
it will definitely not be easy, and as someone pointed out, might require you to move out of Delhi. but all said and done, there are plenty of opportunities, and you just need to go looking for them
All the best

P.S - I guess me and Ego think alike

Re: Personal/Career/CAT-job Dilemma Queries : A Repository -

It's nice to see a thread like this which is cumulative of all peoples problems , so here goes my dilemma.
I graduated from collage in July 2007 (BBA) from IP Univ. in Delhi and gave CAT the corresponding November along with a host of other exams , even though I got calls from a fair few decent collages I either did not clear the GD/PI or did not join . Till Mar. this year I was occupied with such GD/PI's.
After my grad. in 07 I had also enrolled in CFA (ICFAI) and have thus far completed 2 modules (A and B) , now and year has passed since my graduation and I have decided to give CAT another shot but my major dilemma being whether I should take up a job or just give it my all and complete my CFA by Apr. 2009 and get a 95% ile + in CAT and other exams. Taking up a job may mean valuable work ex. but that'll be at the cost of my CFA .
Puys , do help me decide on this as it's becoming a bit of a headache now.
P.S. - I had an old ID with some imp. PM's in it and now it seems to have dissapeared , can any of the MODS at PG help me get back the old ID .

Hi,
Its not totally true that its hopeless now for you to think of MBA. If u score well in the Entrance Exams and if u justify ur decision to go for MBA properly to the interview panel i dont see any problem in you getting into a good BSchool...

Anjali,
remember something, 30 is not too late to pursue MBA, and neither is your profile bad.
infact, i would say its great.
Though 1 year of teaching experience is not exactly enough, the very fact that you have a profile that is different from the rest will come in very handy. considering that these days, 7 out of every 10 ppl who apply for MBA is from IT background. moreover being a lady itself is a benefit.
secondly, MBA will not make your life better. infact unless you have some liking to what you do, an MBA will make ur life miserable. more work, more responsibility, more travel and more exhaustion. don't decide on MBA just because you are fed up teaching.
Ask yourself what you want to be doing. though the colleges will have no problem in admitting you irrespective of your age, an MBA at this stage can seriously alter the path of your personal life.
lastly, try to develop a liking to what you do, if not, look for a temporary work thats of interest to you and you can prepare yourself for MBA/Mtech
