GIS in csc ims in infy or TIS in wipro all are diff names for the Infrasctructure management services (no rocket science eh

what you are most likely to do in ims is remote support, could be for mainframe, databases.
But be clear it is NOT a software job u might be coding here n there but overall it wont require coding

i am in ims divison of a it company and it is the fastest growing department and most companies are taking it as a full fledged dept.
The cons may include working in 24/7 envionment but hey u will get cabs and meals and cool allowances.
The work could range from monotonous to extremly critical(the guys in our project have made smallest of mistakes which caused the customer hrs of downtime n millions of $)
If u wanna code go for wipro(if they r giving u that profile) else csc is better any day.
The work again differs from monotonous to thrilling.

n ya companies do put non-engg people in these projects incase that is a deterrent.
The choice is yours. if u r in doubt go to csc and discuss it with hr they usually dont bite
