Good job, alll u guys.....................
I understand whatever point you have kept n very much agree that no matter what u do...just have d capacity to explain it 2 d interview panel. ya fir jaisa someone said that have d capacity 2 explain whatever u have not done making it sound as if u have really gained all that knowledge in D Profession. Well said guys.
N yes, I understand that dis thread did take a diff turn.....well still feel that this must have helped a hell lot of junta outta thr.
Lets get back 2 d topic. I have a cousin in INFY. He is an IITian;is in Infy for last 3.5 years. Believe me guys, I don't know what's thr wid d company that he just wanna stick arnd wid it. Even during his trainings (three years back), I remember, he used to really feel satisfied n always mentioned that this is d best ne company can offer.
Oh yes, there r probs after training as some of my frnds did sit on desk for a month or so. Still, by d end they did have something substantial 2 do. So, all in all to me Infy looks a good choice for starters. Although, shall add that in last few months trend has changed; wid d coming of likes of GOOGLE etc its hard to attract talent to comapnies like Infy n Wipro.

hey guys,
have been thru the training at Hexaware and can vouch for the fact that it can stake a claim as one of the best in the industry.
Spread over 9 weeks, it includeed 5 weeks Soft- Skills training and 4 week technical. I doubt that many other organisations would imaprt such an extensie soft-skill training.
These 9 weeks were followed by certain technology specific training (as I had been selelcted for Enterprise Solutions, I was trained in PeopleSoft Technology. The company even paid my certification fees for the same).
Plus the training included some strenous hours enlightening us about the Quality Processes that are religiously to be followed.
Also, the company even gives you a good job profile based on your capabilities and ensures that you keep getting trained in some aspect or other related to your work continuously as well.
Not saying that its the very best company for a fresher but have to admit that so far, I have very few complaints.

HI guys
I've been selected by Satyam computers. Can anyone tell about the training and the work culture over there? Is it possible to get some time to prepare for CAT after joining? Heard that in satyam one has to slog real hard as they get most out of you. Plzz comment.

most of the software cos impart technical training to freshers & thats no big deal...they have to...i am from patni & i havent exp the trainings from any other place so cant really compare the trainings of various cos but i'll just mention a few pts that i really appreciated in patnis training process:
1) dedicated training staff who’s only business is to train & most of these guys are good...very good...
2) excellent study material composed internally by patni. infact i've heard of students referring to patnis training handouts for their engg exams! (not that its allowed...the stuff is copyrighted). even during our project execution we occasionally refer to these handouts.
3) perfect mix of lectures & hands on coding - infact its said that the training in mumbai is more hectic than ur project ever will be.
4) perfect duration of the course...not too short to impart half-baked training & never to long to devalue motivation...i've heard of a few cases in diff cos where the trainings go on for 3-4 months & the junta gets desperate to work on an actual project...
all things said & done, i was pretty satisfied with the training that i recd...its a diff thing that i was put up on a project that used completely diff tech & i had to start all over again! ;-) but then shit happens everywhere...
now i come to the biggest pt that i wanted to make...as i said earlier, recving technical training is no big deal what u should be looking at is whether the co provides functional, behavioral & co processes training too…that’s where the diff is felt…again I’ll speak only for patni…
- functional training – this involves the domain knowledge that would be required for u to execute a project eg insurance domain knowledge, banking, any language like Spanish or Japanese. Patni has proper classroom trainings for these too…infact its insurance training is excellent…Japanese course is pretty decent too… Spanish thingy has just come up…
- co processes training – these include trainings on various quality & project management related processes that a co follows…these generally vary co to co but one thing that might have heard of is six sigma…patni has a huge six sigma culture (mainly becoz of GE) in fact in many projects the have to have a fixed % of team members as six sigma green belt…at patni anyone can enroll for getting trained on six sigma & the management helps them to earn a green belt by allocating required kind of projects…this again is a pretty big deal..providing six sigma training to all employees is no easy task…I’ve heard of a few cos where only 10% of the employees are allowed to get trained on six sigma & that too from an external training agency…we have it in-house..
- behavioral training – this one I like best! This is really something that I am proud of at patni…we have excellent in-house (cant stress it enuf!) behavioral training staff with courses happening through out the year…these are the courses that u pay a fortune on if u attend it externally…some of these include presentation skills, team work, Business Etiquette, Personal Effectiveness Workshop, Decision Making Workshop, creativity workshop etc etc…anyone & everyone can attend it…in fact it some of these kinda helped me in my preps for the GD & PI rounds…
Apart from these classroom trainings, u also have huge amount of recorded sessions & web based trainings which u can enroll for…
So there u have it…these are the kinds of trainings available to u at patni…today being my second last day at patni its good that I am recalling all the positives that I have taken out from this co…
Cheers!

All you need for the recuitment process is a bit of logical reasoning, basic quant which any cat material has it. The exam has arnd 15 questions with half an hour time. Heard tht the cut off wud be arnd 8 when i took the test. After that there'll be a gd and then an interview. If you are preparing for cat then the paper would be a cake walk for you. Not that difficult. If u can get hold of some time material then i think it wud be sufficient. All the best for ur exam.
Regards
Kapil

From my exp Infy Training is not so good..........................
First bad thing is that they dont let u choose which stream are u put into
same old ans : depends on business req
They can randomly put u to Internet/Mainframe/Open System/.NET
Every day there is test , quizzes etc so horrifying :x
Also for a non comp guy --> C taught in 2 days , Oracle in 8 days , Java in 5 days
Instead of having a specialised course like u r being taught Java for 1 month ,
they teach u all from computer fundamentals to C to Java to Servlets to Oracle etc etc Hard to grasp but do do do ................
and even after each day quizzes sab ka baap big exam "compre" u have to clear .....................
So much stress that a non comp guy will think why I have joined ?
BUt after this military trng u can work on any technologies whether u have learned it or not as u can read and apply in prj on the same day
Overall trng is very very demanding but there are joyful moments too !! with new trng frnds so chill ouuuuuuuut.............
PS: this is my personal opinion ..............
