guys dont u think indian biggies like tcs /infy etc pay way 2 less salaries ie- 2-2.5 lacs starting. u will be surprised many unheard or shd i say less known co.s like agilent tech;ALLGO SYSTEMS;ANDALE TECH;CADENCE DESIGN SYSTEM AND dozen others pick bits pilani students in 4th yr for training giving a monthly pay b/w 15k-20k + other facilities like food etc /travelling ....
infact this time one of the students had a quarell with INFY HR guys who came for placement saying u r not welcome here since u pay peanuts..
i guess its high time these co. increase their salaries offerings:grab:

hey reading the info on fresher salaries i think bms i good roi invested 27k in 3 years as fees getin placement in region of 15 to 25k

Its really high time for them to increase the pkg as these pkg have been same from last 5 yrs.Also, since many other goood companis have come here they should definitly make it 2.5LPA
Also, Infy,wipro & CTS have reached 1 billion mark.

Hey Guys,

Well. to be very honest.......I don't think that the Indian companies will increase their sals.They have so many ppl to pick from that I don't really care( they go to every other engg college).Gone the days when they used to have guys from IIT/NIT/DCE/BITS and colleges of those league...............

Plus the kinda work they get......App dev and maintainence...............they probobly don't really need bright students( I do not want to hurt anybody's feelings but these r plain facts)........

Worked in HCLT for a couple of yrs........very disappointing exp I must say ! Was taken as a campus recruit...........

They don't even bother to take enggs now...........Anybody with an NIIT/Aptech degree is welcome.Same is the situation with other Indian companies..........Don't bother they won't pay much.........Sop, move on............

I think they shud be given lower slots in the recrt process..........

boss i think u need a better understandin of ths industry.
Agilent,cadence etc r i think pioneers in EDA(electronic design automation),thy have very good products and thr revenue/employee is much higher thn indian biggies..
Now u must b knowin tht indian s/w giants r mainly in to app maintenance/dev only.
So i dont think comparin these two categories will not b prudent...
Also as u r sayin tht indian biggies pay peanut bcoz most of da projects thy do r repetitive n aftr havin presence in the industry 4 over 20+yrs thse orgs hav a huge DB of codes tht only need 2 b cut n pasted most of the time.Thn a bit of polishin n voila da prod is ready,ask nebody n he/she will tell u tht.Also guys dont xpect ne hike probably it will take adive...

Good point....Even my company has recruted students from BSC(comp sci).Though they dont get the same pkg & designation as the engg get but they have to work much more harder to establish themselves.
Indeed there is no paucity of the freshers whether its BSC,BCA,MCA or Engg!!Hence hard for these companies to to raise the pay pkg.
